I then just unplugged the light and took it home with me.

Anyway it looks like the plastic on the light cracked somehow and now I need a new light.

Couple of questions:
1.) anyone else experience something like this?
2.) I just purchased a tail light on ebay but the part number is different from the number on my original light. - will there be an issue using this tail light?
The part number from my light is 991.631.146.12 and the one I bought online is 991.631.145.13
3.) should I install the new light or bring it to a specialist - I know this is subjective but what would you do?
It happened to me, early cars , mine is 2012.5, do not have metal support brackets behind it which I assume were in place to prevent this from happening.

After some arguments it was replaced under cpo warranty.

updated version look like this

Just walked to the garage and looked at mine - you are exactly right.

Not only did your lights fall off but your '911' did too!

Who is working on your car man?

Misaligned exhaust - missing parts from headlights, half asses lettering. No offense but you can do better with this car and find someone else to work on it cause any reputable place would have coached on the lettering, aligned the exhaust and put all the parts back on the car after taking them off to remove your bumper.

Why was the bumper removed? I'd be concerned about what else was hacked up that you can't see from internet pics.

Yes, Rick's team at Fischer does very good work.

This is when you buy the clear tail lights, and when the wife asks 'why', you say, "becuase the clears stay in better for high speed runs!"
I believe Chauncey is gone and my favorite and only guy I used to trust Justin is also gone too. Replaced by a jeep/Honda salesmen....

I stopped going there back in about 2009 because Chauncey was an ***.

How is their new car wash?

Leaves your car nice and spotty cause they use hard water... oh and it isn't touch-less...

Seems to me like someone not only forgot the covers but also forgot the 2 bolts that hold that light in...If you've taken it in for campaigns, there are some that require removal of the taillights.

Make sure you inspect to make sure they remove any rags from the engine bay and I'd also check the lug nuts on the wheels to make sure they are all there and tight... Wouldn't trust them to put air in my tires at this point.

People wonder why I DIY everything. Partly it's because I can't justify spending $400 on an oil change that takes me 20 minutes. But mainly it's because too many mechanics simply don't give a **** and you end up in situations like this.

Too much exaggeration.

A dealership does not charge $400 for an oil change. My oil change two weeks ago was $182.55 (I provide the Mobil 5W50).

You can NOT change your oil in 20 minutes. No way, no how- set up all your tools, get the oil warmed up to +180, drain, fill, check proper fill level, put away all tools, clean up, take old oil to recycling center....in 20 minutes.

But, we get your frustration.

Well, fine. 20 mins is an exaggeration. But 30 mins is not. Did it a few weeks ago. It's a drain plug and an oil filter housing. It's amazingly simple. Not at all like a 993, which is a massive PITA.

Default Even my taillight fell off! WTH!

Was driving on PCH, curvy road. All of a sudden check right read light warning comes on. I stop at the next gas station and the entire light is missing with several scratches on the rear bumper. Will Porsche take accountability and fix this?

The light bounced around and left several scratches on my rear bumper.
