random/phantom park assist alarms
Checking to see if anyone is having a similar experience. I am getting some random alarms from my park assist sensors. Just enough to set off the audible warning tone, but never enough to show up on the PCM. Sensors are clean. There is never an object close enough to warrant a warning. I assume these are factory set and there is no way to adjust the sensitivity?

Happens to me also. Out of nowhere with no one near me at all. I have cleaned them and checked the connections...still happens every so often. If you or anybody else has a fix please let me know. BTW I have 2 Audis with park assist that this does NOT happen to. Very frustrating.

are you sure it is "random" and that you are not close to something that would trigger it?
this past weekend I was in the far right lane waiting at a light and a big rig on my left was coming to the light was really close to me so I moved the car forward and to the right to give myself some more clearance and the park assist sounded, thought that was weird as it never happened before, but am now guessing I came too close to the curb (or object, may a big rock or something), which caused the alarm to sound

This happens in my Cayman GTS. I have narrowed down the circumstances in which it happens. It has to be hot out - over 95 degrees generally, or in direct sunlight above something like 90 degrees. It is way more common if the sun is shining on the sensor (on mine it is the passenger side front sensor), and of course it stops after I get going and reach 11 mph, so it generally only happens waiting at stoplights. The dealer said it was just that the sensors were dirty - which is BS, since I hand wash the car compulsively - it just so happened that they were dirty when I brought the car to the dealer because it was raining. Apparently this is a "known issue" with the Macans, but unusual in other models.
Anyway, this is my first post here. Thanks to everyone for all of the great discussion and ideas - I have been reading for a couple of years before registering recently when I ordered my second Porsche - a 2018 911 GTS, which should arrive sometime in October/November.

I get them in the front.
Enough to show red on the PCM but nothing is in front of me or I just drove up on traffic and is a good distance away.
It's like a ghost walks in front of my car from left to right.
Boo.....

I get this as well. Usually more often when I drive into parkade at work when the vehicle has leveled out. Audible tone and red on PCM. Brief moment and then gone.
I'll mention it on first service but don't expect much.

Consider it might be one of these 2 reasons...
Could be rodents(hope not) damage to chewed or possibly other cars nearby in traffic have systems that emit same frequency and confuse our park sensors?
Happens to me once in awhile---checking for rodents weekly....none to my knowledge.
Cheers

I think I've had it happen a few times on my 991 now; but, always been an isolated quick instance then nothing for a long time.
I just assumed it was a quirk of the technology.

Happens to me every now and then. Seems to line up with it being sunny and hot. Never happened on any of my Bimmers.

Happened to me on my Cayman GTS front and rear (maybe 5 or 10x in 2 years). Happened 3x so far on my 911 (2 months). Front only. Never an issue on my two Audis (although on my q5 the rear view camera seems to pick and choose when to work).

I get it both on the 911 and the Cayenne. More so in the 911
