How do you decide between two (new vs used)
Please note: I am not buying this car or any car at the moment. I am looking around and will probably be buying something *next year*. I still have not decided on AWD or RWD and MT or PDK.
Of course I can go to the fantastic car configurator and what not.
I just love the 911 and there are so many different cars to pick from.
I was just thinking most people who are getting the new GTS are pushing $140K (give or take) and saw this 2014 Turbo S for that same price.
Turbo S are near $200K (when optioned). I realize used vs new and also the options might not be what you would pick.
But I'm sure you guys have come across this question a lot when deciding new or used. Doesn't have to be same price vs same price. It can also be similar car for $95K vs similar car new for $130K

here is the C&D test of the Turbo S ($193K as tested) as fast as a Bugatti Veyron

I guess my question is what goes into the decision making, and why many people would rather have the *new* GTS even thought they could have the Turbo S for the same (but of course have to settle for lightly used).
I suppose one reason might be the Turbo S is more power than needed for street use.

the moral of the story is; they are charging way too much for their 911' s . I wouldnt buy a new one under any circumstances and same to say for a mt, wouldnt buy one under any circumstances

Haven't bought a used car in forty years (jeez I'm getting old!). Looked a lot of them, but always felt that new were better buys when keeping a car for the long term. For short term ownership and the thrill of owning a particular car, a well priced used car may be you best bet.

I'll play...
I ordered a 2018 991.2 GTS w/ MSRP of 148,310.00 Delivery expected 3rd week in October 2017.
--I get to custom build and choose delivery experience
--No paint finish issues from previous owner/I can limit swirls right from the start
--2014 Turbo S Nurburgring lap time 7:26 (35th best time)
--2017/2018 GTS 991.2 7:22 (recently published)
--I wanted to option a unique paint that isn't on a ton of current/recent P-cars (Chalk)
--I get to option interior exactly as i want (I went w/ Graphite blue/Chalk)
--Rear wheel steer available (excited for this)
--Apple Car Play and new PCM (highly prefer this version to previous PCM)
--Front Axle Lift available to help mitigate SPASM clearance when needed
--Sport exhaust standard on GTS
--2014 Turbo S with Carbon Ceramic (used) would scare me a bit
