I just had the 40K service at my local dealer for my 13 C2S and it was around $1250. The car didn't need new brake fluid since I had brake fluid done for a DE 6 months prior. My dealership also gives PCA members a 10% discount.

Great thread. When I purchased my 2014 C2S CPO car last month they performed spark plug replacement, replaced the air filters, replaced the battery, brake fluid flush and oil change. The car had 10,000 miles on it and had just turned 4 years old. So I should be good for a while. Question I have is 0W40 or 5W50 the correct oil? And the correct brake fluid is DOT 4?

I know I am going to offend people here..... I am an educated white collar worker....but love working on my old Benz, BMW, Porsche, Jaguar....and newer cars. The service performed can be done by anybody who has a little mechanical skill. To pay the kind of money people are talking about here for such simple service that requires very little skill is beyond me. Why people are using the dealership instead of a local good German mechanic who can do it at a fraction of the cost and do just as good job...it again beyond me.
It is sad to see that very few are willing to do any work themselves these days. God bless those who say " my time is too valuable....blablabla".
That said, if I did not enjoy doing the work...I would gladly pay to have it done. But spending the amount of money that most are spending here for that service is not a bargain...it is a rip off.
Shop around you can do much much better than the numbers thrown around here. Better yet....do it yourself or do it with your son or old man, it can be a bonding moment

Where do you guys get your 40K (or 4-year) tune up kits?? I'm at 18K at 4 years and would like to do the service at my local indie

(Sorry I know George you love sunset but I've bugged Luke at Sunset no fewer than 5 times begging them to sell me parts. They just suck at this point.)

The Porsche approved A40 oils are many in the 0W40 and 5W40 viscosity. Probably more than 40 each viscosity on the list.

As for 5W50 the only A40 Porsche approached selection is Mobil's.

Sure. It's still A40 approved. For example, Rennlister BradB runs this oil, and does several DEs per year. A great choice since it has a more robust additive package and does not shear like Mobil 0W40.

We've covered a lot of this is many other threads.

1) Porsche A40 approved
2) more robust additive package
3) does not exhibit the classic Mobil 0W40 shearing
4) I don't know what the best oil is, but I do know that Mobil 5W50 is better than Mobil 0W40

*use 0W40 for winter driving

Yes sir. Yearly oil changes. Brake fluid every 2-years. Spark plugs at year #4. Tires no more than 5 years old. Drive/serp. belt at year #6 (check this number?), just to name a few of the more critical items that are also time based, not just mileage.
