Just a quick update.

The car is at the shop and I will pick it up when I finish the current road trip.

Point to note: The keys need to be delivered to the dealers so they can be recoded. The point being, I believe this another security measure to stop the aftermarket offering a simple base to GTS transition.

Also ordered a set of Z24 Corsas

Sounds very close to the $12,350 cost of adding the X51 to the S on the configurator

Agreed, and it didn't strike me as a bargain back when I spec'd my C4S.

The "best" of the three dealerships I checked finally quoted me 17 hrs labor and that was, "if your car is cooperative." So it's no sale for me.

I am anxious to see how randr fares, if there were any issues with installation as well as how the kit performs and if it (hopefully) meets his expectations.

I should be back in 8 days and will be able to pick the car up then.

I'm intrigued by the level of reprogramming that needs to be done.

I have a lot of (telemetry) data for the car in S configuration, I'll collect more of the same in X51 configuration.

It should make for an interesting analysis e.g. boost levels, gear change points, throttle and engine response etc. I an even have some frequency time sound maps it will be interesting to compare and contrast those e.g. S, SX51 and NA GTS

You know how kids sleep out, and line up outside the Apple store for the newest iPhone? That's what I'd do if I had a 991.2 at my local P-dealership for a PowerKit.

The X51 kit is now fitted to my 991.2 C2S - I have a run in of 500km (keep below 5000rpm) and am at 300km.

Preliminary observations

(1) The car clearly and noticeably pulls a lot harder than the S - and flys towards the redline (although I'm not going beyond 5000 rpm for another couple of hundred kms).

(2) The sound is different, appears deeper more aggressive and seems quite a bit louder above 4000 rpm (I didn't expect this, by the same token my family members concur).

(3) PDK shift points seem to have changed and in sports plus the changes seem both quicker and a little harder

(4) The engine response and throttle response are very linear, very little sense that the car is turbocharged

(5) Very little in the way of discernible turbo lag

So far so good, IMO the upgrade is well worth it. The strong linear pull through the rev range has been enhanced and was more noticeable than I expected. I will fully log the car - on track - in the first week of October and do a direct comparo with the S (throttle, boost, exact gear change points plus how this all interplays with lineal g, lateral g and yaw rate.

In a nutshell, I'm very happy with the product, performance and apparently seamless integration.

Very Nice.

PDK shift points different? Won't have expected that.

And now the big question, how many hours of labor did they charge you?

I will verify everything with data logs - however, the above is my current perception.

When I picked up the car I was told I would be charged 8 hours (although I haven't got the final invoice as I'm waiting on some replacement sills - I was originally told 12 to 14 hours).

Well that ( 8 hrs) sounds livable
