911.1 aerokit - questions
I am planning on adding an aerokit to 911.1 TTs. My plan is to either confirm the order for the kit next week or just leave the car without it.
1) I made some research over the internet and it looks like very few cars have it. The funny thing is that for 991.2 there are plenty of cars with the aerokit. But not for the 991.1.
Why is that so, that you can very rearely see the 991.1 with aerokit if looks the same sporty way with the aerokit as on the 991.2?
Are there any hidden nuances or disadvantages?
2) The other observation is that out of those 991.1, which have the aeorkit, I found just 2 cars in the internet having the gloss black elements. Others have the aerokit being painted in base car color. I also wonder why as gloss black stands out more and seems to be a better fit. With 911.2 most of them have the gloss black aerokit and very few have the one of base car color.
3) Are the side skirts really different in aerokit from the standard ones? I tried to compare those on the pictures and can't see the difference.
Thanks in advance for your help!
My car is dark grey metallic. This is how it looks now:
The sportdesign mirrors and black headlights are on the way. Some plastic parts will also be painted in gloss black as well: https://rennlist.com/forums/991-turb...tic-parts.html

I am about to take a plunge as I just saw some cool pics of a fellow member add the gt3rs side skirts to this kit. It is the perfect missing article.
I'm not sure how a gloss back would look on my basalt black TTS.
Any thoughts or pics guys ?
Cheers

Here is an important info for those, who is looking at the aerokit purchase.
Imhave orderd the aerokit and have a chance to compare all the parts.
1) 3 plastic parts of the aerokit are just identical to the standard ones, namely:
- plastic on the rear bumper
- plastic side skirts
The shape is absolutely identical, the only difference is that the parts from the aerokit are prepared for the paint, for gloss black or for the base body color. As a result the surface is just plaint plastic as opposed to the standard ones, which have the matt black structure.
So in principle a good paint shop can easily polish those standard ones that they are prepared for paint as well.
2) The remaining 3 pieces of the aerokit are completely different in its shape, namely:
- front spoiler
- rear wing made of 2 pieces
For those, who are smart enough to think that they can save some money by:
- just buying the 3 parts of the aerokit, which are different from standard ones
- the remaining 3 pieces, which are identical, to paint at a good shop
you are sadly mistaken ))))
You won't be able to save money )))
People in Porsche are smart enough. The cost of the front spoiler, as an exapmle, if purchased separately, will cost you 90% of the price for the whole aerokit )))))))

Here are some more pics if helpful (although 991.2)...
I love it!
BTW, I initially added it as an option only because I loved the rear wing, but the front aero wings have really grown on me over time. Very aggressive look. Very unique.

Theoretically, aero-kit gives more down force. I heard TT/s with aero-kit generated more down force than a gt3(no sure).
IMO, car with aero-kit looks better.
But it depends on the color of the car, rims...
BTW, did you look up some aftermarket body kit? Around same price, you get much crazier stuff, i.e vorsteiner.

suncoast parts has front spoiler for under $700. Can't be but a couple hundred to paint (or wrap). That's not 90% of kit. Lol. Side skirts I think about same. The cost is mostly in the wing I believe. Could be wrong but that's what I concluded.
