OEM Exhaust question
About to buy a used CPO 991.1 TTS that has FABSPEED Supersport Exhaust X-Pipe Exhaust System- Sport Catalytic Converters and tips in black installed. Buying out of state. A little nervous how loud this aftermarket exhaust will be. As a daily driver I don't want it to be obnoxious. Any feedback? If I wanted to go back to stock, how would I and any idea of the cost? Would it be cheaper to ask dealer to get me back to OEM? Dealer selling it isn't original dealer. Or am I worried about nothing?
thank you for your help!

I traded my 991.1 on a 991.2 TTS and had to remove the AM Sharkwerks exhaust.
The dealer even had to swap out brand new (500 mile) Michelin PSS I'd previously installed, for Porsche approved Pirelli P Zeros in order to qualify the trade as a CPO for the next owner.

Porsche of Huntington? I've seen the car in person (couldn't test drive it bc it was too cold and the car was on Summer tires). Beautiful car.
To answer your question these aftermarket exhausts are not obnoxious, they are a slight uptick in sound. Put the car in Sport or Sport Plus and it can be loud, but if you have the windows up and are listening to the radio, it's not noticeable.

Car sounds like a vacuum cleaner with stock exhaust. I have a Sharkwerks in my 991.1 TT and think the sound is just right, but the choice is personal, so you should give the car a listen before you buy. Try it under load as well as free rev, as it will sound different under different conditions. Under certain load conditions my car can sound a bit "blatty" but most of the time just right. If the exhaust had chambers, that sound could probably be tuned out, but I'm fine with Sharkwerks, and a plus is that it's a lot less money than many other AM exhausts.
With sport cell cats, the car in question will be louder, as exhaust gasses will flow faster, although I don't know if the Fabspeed exhaust has any sound chambers. The Sharkwerks basically swaps the OEM muffler for simple tubes with no baffling. The turbos and stock cats slow the exhaust gasses enough so that added muffling isn't really needed. If there are sound chambers in the Fabspeed, they might offset the higher velocity gasses exiting the sport cats.

Hello Dallas981, congrats on picking up a 991TTS brilliant car! Unlike earlier model 996/997TT, the 991TT has very little tendency for interior cabin noise as cruising speed. I have numerous 991TT clients running our Supersport X-Pipe system, a lot of them catless, with no complaints of cabin noise or an overall sound level that is too aggressive. I am quite confident you will love the sound of that car as do all my guys, so buy with confidence and enjoy my friend!
