Default CF side vents... which is best

I am considering getting the CF side vents to replace the plastic black ones. It looks like they are either complete replacements from MACarbon or DBcarbon (very expensive), or tape on covers from Agency Power (half the price). Any thoughts on which is best? Is the complete replacement worth the price? Thank you for weighing in.

I have DB carbon and they are great. No experience with MACarbon. Don't know there were stickers for the rear vents so can't comment.

They just pop out or have some type of fasteners?

I didn't do the install but believe they pop in via some grooves. Seemed to be quick work by my dealer. I could be wrong.

MA carbon has amazing quality and fitment, never used DB Carbon, and AP's quality and fitment is horrible...I can tell you from experience on a valance that I bought for my 997.2 TTS.

Any idea how much the dealer may charge to install? Had anyone done it themselves?

My dealer didn't charge me so labor time must be almost nothing or they were in a giving mood.

Hang on a little while and you'll be able to buy OEM parts from the 991.2 GT2RS including the carbon side intakes, carbon mirror caps and larger intercoolers

Resurrecting this zombie thread... GT3ZZZ correctly predicted the future.

I noticed these CF side intakes on Suncoast for $1395 and they say they'll fit 911 Turbo & Turbo S - 2014-2019:
SKU991TTCFINT
Has anyone bought these? Are they straightforward to install?

They've also got the CF rear center intake and CF side skirts. They want $5k for each of these:
SKU991TTVENT
PK991TCFSILLS
And $1395 for the CF caps for the Sport Design mirrors:

Hi,

Those links are for the regular side inlets and mirrors caps, the other is for the Exclusive...GT2RS carbon parts are way more $$$. I am looking at doing their inlets but with the dealer.

You are correct - but I think it is because the links all point to the same SKU for multiple models. If you follow the site navigation for "2017-2019 (991.2) -> Turbo and Turbo S" you still get the same SKUs.

And yeah, I don't think any of these are parts shared with the GT2RS - but all the links I posted have it stated in the details that they fit either 2014-2019 or 2017-2019 Turbo and Turbo S. I hope I'm not wrong, though!

I also like the gt2rs vents. If looking for the GT2RS vents limited options other than overseas....

Darwinpro and Moshammer May be options as well.

I really do want the GT2RS inlets. If anyone does find them from a reputable source please share. For my TTS.

Here is some info for you.

1) GT2RS side ducts will not fit in a turbo or GT3RS w/o heavy modification
- this has the largest ram scoop out of all the cars, also comes in carbon
- it's a 2 piece system for each side. Pretty complicated brackets to all click into place, etc.

2) GT3RS side ducts will fit in a turbo.
- also has a ram scoop, not as large as the GT2RS, comes in the standard matte black finish (same finish as the standard turbo ducts)

3) I'm currently working on a neat project.
- I've 3D scanned and I'm currently in the prototype stage of making GT2 style ducts that will bolt directly into the turbo - will come in carbon
- will be able to buy it as a kit with the CSF intercoolers, or separate if you just want the ducts.
- I'll have some pre-order info in the next 1-2 months once I've confirmed the prototype, pricing, etc.

991 Turbo

GtT3RS - small ram duct / comes in black

GT2RS - larger ram scoop / carbon

GT2RS duct - installed

GT2RS duct - out of the car (piece 1/2)
