Just picked up 2015 Turbo S - Rear wing texture/paint
Finally pulled the trigger and picked up a 2015 Turbo S with 5k miles, searched high and low to find one that had the right options/color/wheels. Super happy with the car so far but I do have a question.
Previous owner said that the car had zero paint work, everything seems to line up as far as the paint finish being consistent but the rear wing has me scratching my head. Your standard automotive paint has a certain amount of orange peel to the finish, wet sanding and buffing will give you that glass smooth finish. The paint on the car is decent. The rear wing paint finish just doesn't fit with the car. Its almost got a vinyl type of texture to the clear coat, is that normal with these cars? I will try to get a picture of later this week. The finish is limited to the retractable rear spoiler. Is this standard?

First of all, Porsche doesn't do matte paint, so if the finish is like a matte paint, it's done aftermarket.
Second, did you take it to a paint shop or a good detailer and see what they thought?

I wonder if it has clear bra material on it, which should still be smooth. The paint finish should be identical to the rest of the car - it's not supposed to be as you describe. Something is up.

DDG's wing's paint and surface texture is like the rest of the paint.
Maybe it's not the OE wing?

sounds like clear bra, which has an orange peel look and feels like vinyl. You should be able to find the edge if that's the case.

Funny that you mention that, I think it is normal my basalt black 14tts it's the same way, looks like the paint has wrinkles on the rear spoiler, now I know I'm not alone in this boat, like you I was scratching my head but now I think it's normal or at least I'm not alone with this issue
