R8 V10 Plus VS 991.2 Turbo
im still deciding between these two. Originally i wanted a GT3 because its N/A but it lacks The Speed And Thrill Of The Turbo But The Turbo Lacks Emotion Of GT3 so whats inbetween? R8. Its As Fast As A Turbo And Has Emotion Of GT3 And N/A, what will you choose? Dont be biased

Easy, a TTS with Sharkwerks exhaust. I don't see anything that is close to that combination. If you don't find emotion in a TTS, you are not driving it hard enough. I'm not sure what you expect to hear from a Turbo forum, but please tell us what's the difference between "thrill" and "emotion"? Also, the R8 is pretty fast, but it's not able to run with a TTS. I'm 100% sure of that, because I see them on the track regularly.

I'm not even sure there are enough Gen 2 R8 V10 Plus cars in the U.S. currently to "see them on the track regularly."

motor trend
0-60 R8 = 2.6
Turbo S = 2.5
0-125 R8= 8.1
0-125 Turbo s = 8.1
quarter mile R8 = 10.6 @ 130
quarter mile Turbo S = 10.5 @ 131

I run with the Audi club at VIR quite often, and I also ran with Audi club last weekend at Daytona. There are plenty of the new R8 on the track. They are great cars, but they don't have the burst or grip of the TTS on Cup2 tires.
Here's a C&D comparo: http://www.caranddriver.com/comparis...omparison-test
Otherwise, get what you like. I picked the TTS, but you will be happy with the R8 also.

Couldn't agree more, on track or street. The TTS needs some emotion added, but exhaust and a few others will take care of that plus keep warranty. TTS now in the stable with ZR1. Looked at many but the TTS got me with it's potential and also DD capability on the side. Enjoy whatever you wind up with, lots of choices for sure

Curious about what you can add mod wise to the TTS and keep warranty.
Don't track the car, at least not yet.
Don't own a Turbo, at least not yet.
Just researching for the future.
Thanks

Lurking occasionally on the Turbo Forum, current as a GTS owner and prior R8 owner.

TTS - cat back exhaust, springs, sways, tires, and you have a bandit.

I own both, 2014 TTS GIAC stage 3, and a 2017 R8. I love both cars. R8 engine does not come alive until 6000rpm, but once it is there it bangs through the gears at 8700/6000 rpm beautifully. R8 is more refined daily driver too. But nothing beats the TTS's launch!!! And my TTS now has 610 whp on 93 octane, it is just brutally fast compared with the R8. Maybe a VF Engineering SC will change that !!!!

I currently own a 991 TTS as my daily driver and previous owned a Lamborghini Huracan which is essentially the same as the R8 Plus (but with the better suspension). The engine in the Huracan/R8 does sound amazing, but as a daily driver, I would make sure you recognize:
1) No backseat in R8/Huracan
2) The electronics, while cool with the full digital dash, is buggy and gets frustrating in short order
3) The ride of the TTS is more compliant in my opinion
4) The repair records of Porsche are better
5) The 991 TTS flies a little below the radar which is nice
Just things to consider! Good luck!
