Default 991.2 Turbo S Antilag feature

I'm curious to hear from owners of the 991.2 TTS about the antilag feature. Is it noticeable compared to a 991.1 TTS? How is your experience with it so far?

.1 also has an antilag feature. It's called Sport+ mode. With the high flow cats I don't notice any lag in Sport either. At least not compared with my Supercharged Jag.

I think we are talking about two different things. 991.2 Turbo S maintain boost for 2 seconds after letting off throttle by reducing timing or something along those lines. After 2 seconds it will release the boost through the divertive valve.

I've owned both cars, and I never felt any lag in the 991.1 until driving the 991.2, and now I do notice it coming out of a couple of turns on track. The rest of the time, I honestly don't think that there is a difference. Overall, the .2 is a couple seconds per lap quicker at VIR than the 991.1.

According to what I read the .2 keeps the throttle plate open on overrun (off-throttle pedal, no fuel, no spark), thereby using the engine as a (rear-wheel driven) air pump to keep the turbos spinning.

F1 was doing this circa 2012 to keep air flowing over the rear diffusers (no turbos back then.) But, it was banned the next year.

Wouldn't this be something that could be adjusted with a tune?

i just put a pedal box in my 991.1 TTS and it makes dramatic difference in response and if nothing else.....sure feels like any lag is gone.

just a few hundred bucks, easy to install. Would never own any Porsche again without one. http://www.pedalbox.com/de/home/

They have an English site, too.

http://www.pedalbox.com/en/home/

It remaps the throttle response, meaning when you touch the gas pedal, the car thinks you are stomping on it.

Can't this same feature be programmed through a tune/remap surely?

All that box does, is simply increase /decrease the pedal travel. It does not have ANY effect on throttle response at all.

Don't waste your money - I bought a similar device for my 2016 Z06...and sent it back after a few days. All it did well was drain my battery faster when the car was off and make the car jerkier in acceleration.

It was a complete piece of ****...

This device is no different and they are making completely false and inaccurate claims on their site, if you read their claims.

This device has nothing to do with tuning, or engine modification to reduce throttle response. To do that, you need tuning, at the minimum...but likely more in terms of parts and modifications. All it does is electrically remap pedal travel and shorten or lengthen the amount of travel needed to go from closed to open throttle.

Throttle response has nothing to do with pedal travel...what a joke.

And FWIW, the 991 HAS Turbo lag...not a whole lot...but when you compare throttle response on ANY 991 to a blower or N/A car...you can see major differences. It would be hard to impossible NOT to have some little bit lag in a turbo car under normal driving conditions.

Nice. I read that as both the TT and TTS have the anti-lag feature.
