Default shifter question

I want to put the GT3 RS shifter on my 2017 991.2 turbo s

I'm told this can't be done.

has anyone tried?

I have a GT3 RS but I'm not sure what you are referring to ... are you talking about the steering wheel paddles or the center console shifter?

I'm confused ... I just went and looked at and took pics of my 991 TTS and my RS and they have the identical center console shifter other than the little alcantara bits on the side and the two little strips on the base.

Is that why you want to do a switch?

I dunno if the 991.2 shifter is different, but that seems like a lot of effort for just two tiny bits of suede.

Or am I missing something?

Btw I don't know if a switch is possible, but considering that the two shifters are basically identical it surprises me that they're not interchangeable. Sorry I can't be of more help ... hopefully someone who knows for sure can chime in.

just the handle part...seems on the GT3 RS the "bulb" of the handle is rounder and curved forward?

I like the aluminum shifter. It matches your polished aluminum trim right? I have the brushed aluminum trim with the brushed aluminum shifter which has a more conventional design.
