GMG Racing: 991.1 TurboS Track Safety Components

Today our facility was graced with the presence of this beautiful 991.1 Turbo S. The owner of this particular car wanted to start taking it to the track, but was concerned about safety and driver stability. With our extensive expertise in professional racing, and our commitment to bringing that knowledge into the products we manufacture in mind, the decision was made to bring the car into our facility for the installation of appropriate safety equipment.

The first step for our technicians was to remove the stock seats and a select number of the interior panels. Removing these panels would help facilitate the installation of our popular GMG LMS Harness/Roll Bar. The chromoly bars were then carefully erected in the interior. We designed the rear section with a diagonal brace for added structural rigidity, but were careful to not have it impede rear visibility from the driver’s seat.

An Amerix fire extinguisher with quick release were bolted on the passenger side of the roll bar. With the bar bolted securely to the chassis and the fire extinguisher in place, we moved onto the seats.

Sparco EVOIIus seats were selected as the seat of choice in for this installation. Sparco has been one of our favorite racing sponsors for many years. Whether it’s diving into turn one at Long Beach, or just a fun weekend out autocrossing; we have put our trust (and posteriors) in Sparco seats. The seats were bolted to GMG’s signature seat base kits. These are the same seat bases we use in a number of our race cars.

The last component were the Schroth Profi II-6 GT3 harnesses (which were installed throughout the process). The bottom two straps are attached directly to the GMG Seat Base, and the top two straps are strung to the GMG LMS Harness/Roll Bar.

I sent you a PM, let me know if there's anything else I can do!

Took this shot this morning. The Turbo was parked next to it's older sibling.
