Default GMG Racing: 991.2 Turbo Development Underway

GMG Racing: 991.2 Turbo Development Underway

We now have a beautiful Carmine Red 991.2 Turbo in our Orange County facility. This means product development for is now underway.

In true Porsche form, the 991.2 Turbo is similar, but different. In addition to the new car, having a slightly-older 991.1 TurboS at our disposal has been invaluable. We have been able to directly compare the two cars and noting the myriad of small differences along the way. Over the coming weeks we will be extending our various product lines to encompass this latest generation of the Turbo.

How about trying to fit the GMG 991 Turbo exhaust on this car for starters & running it on the dyno?
Already a great product & would save $ on R&D!

We have found that the exhaust will actually be a little different from the .1 to the .2 turbos. As soon as the angles are finalized it will be interesting to see the difference on the dyno.

For now, here are results with the GMG Exhaust, Champion Intercoolers, and GIAC Stg.2 tuning on the 991.1 turbo.

I am happy to announce that the development process of the 991.2 GMG WC-Exhaust System has come to a conclusion, and we have now begun production.

The features of this system are very similar to our 991.1 exhaust, however there have been some slight fitment alterations tailored specifically for the 991.2. This system features us-produced T304 tubing expertly TIG welded to our stainless-steel packed mufflers (designed to be much more durable then the common fiber-glassed packed variety). Featuring our popular X-pipe design, we have balanced the exhaust pulses which maximizes power output and noise “character”.

This particular 991.2 Turbo S rolled straight off of the dealer’s lot and through our bay door. While in our care, it was the first car to receive our new GMG Sport Exhaust for the 991.2 Turbo. This exhaust system features T304 Stainless tubing with optional ceramic-coated quad tips.

In addition to the GMG Exhaust, this Turbo S was treated to a set of satin-black BBS FI-R wheels.

Lastly, we put the Turbo on the alignment rack for one of our GMG Signature digital alignments before taking a few beauty shots.

This exhaust system is now available with shipping world-wide. Installation and purchase can be done through us, or any facility in our authorized dealer network. If you have any questions feel free to shoot me a call or email!

I have had a few people ask about the difference in tips between the .1 and .2 systems. In the photo below you can see the differences. The newer system features the straight-cut ends that are specially suited for the new .2 rear bumper.

Does the black car have your springs installed? I haven't installed them on my car yet as I'm afraid it'll bottom out entering my driveway.... :-)

Hi Mike,

Yes, the black car has our springs installed on it. In regards to the ride height working for you, it really varies from person to person. James uses them on his 991.1 TurboS Cab. and loves it. I have personally found it high enough to handle the dips around here, however I would not want it any lower.

This particular car came back in for a full Xpell Stealth wrap. I couldn't resist taking it out to snap a few more shots.

It's been fun having a number of new 991.2 Turbos around recently. This one got a lot of work done and went a ride on our dyno!
