Starting to bother my sleep - pls help me decide
 

If you are in market for new tts, would you rather get 2017 tts now or wait a couple of years until 2019?

I heard 2019 tts will have bigger turbos, but how much improvement they are compare to 2017 is unknown to me at this point.

I have a 2014 991 C2 as my DD, so can prob resist the temptation for a couple of years. But, if it's financially sound (car has 9K milage), I might as well trade it in now for a new tts.

I also have a couple of F cars for weekend fun, but deciding on this one is the toughest and it is starting to bother my sleep.

Your opinion will be much appreciated!

They will always be bigger and faster. Honestly if I were you I would get a great deal on a 2014-2016 TTS and ditch the C2 then buy a 2019 when it comes out. I really don't see the value add of the 991.1 vs 991.2 TTS. Its nominal at best and great marketing.

Agreed, buy a 14-16 and save and if the 19 comes around it won't hurt so much but at least you would have had a better driving experience for the few years until then.

It won't be a 2019 model... It might be a 2020 model and may not hit the market before late 2020. It'll be a new generation. Rumors say it'll be hybrid, electrical motors with turbo engine... but nobody knows for sure. Even if it wasn't hybrid, it's worth the upgrade then.

The differences between the 991.1 and 991.2 are minimal to the eye from the outside. The interior's significant upgrade is the steering wheel borrowed from 918 and Apple CarPlay. The turbo upgrade for the turbo S is something too since it got bigger/different than the non-S. Judging between the 991.2 and 991.1 if it's worth the money or not is very personal and subjective. The used .1 already depreciated much, sadly, but makes it very appealing vs brand new .2

There will always be a "next" car 3 years away. I'm upgrading from .1 to .2, so there are some that will appreciate the upgrades now. If you can swing it, get the .2 now and smile for 3 extra years. If not, others are right, the .1 is a serious bargain these days. You deserve it, and if you are losing sleep over it, then the decision should be very easy.

Pre-owned 14-16, mod the snot out of it, then pre-owned '20-22, mod it, rinse, repeat. :-) I used to only buy new, until I started appreciating how little people drive their expensive cars. You could likely find a 2014, loaded, with only 5k miles on the clock for 140k CPO. Save 60k over new. Pocket 40k and spend 20k on stage 3 mods.

Not the best path for all, but certainly to me it makes a lot of sense. :-)

Interesting question. I'd love to hear from people who've made the jump from a .1 to a .2 as well.

I think getting a '14 or '15 at a deal now and enjoy it till we see what really comes out. Otherwise you can't get this time back.

I'm going to go take a quick look at a Huracan LP610-4 and a few Gallardo LP560-4 at a dealer this week. I have never driven lambos before. If they're not what I like in terms of reliability and practicality, I think I'll go with the tts.
