Default Are 991.1 TTS "fun" to drive?

Looking for the collective view on the fun factor driving the TTS on a daily basis. Are they fun? I've had lots of high HP cars that were fast but not fun to drive - including my present ride (BMW M6 Gran Coupe with Dinan Package). Drove a TTS a long time ago and thought it seemed a bit clinical - really fast but without any drama and without any thrill. Is my memory faulty? Love the looks of the car and want something to drive on a daily basis that can be a thrill ride. Drove the MB GT S and that was definitely a hooligan and fun to drive but no back seat at all makes me question it's usefulness as a DD. Appreciate the input! Thanks.

As a DD I've never driven any Porsche to date that raises the pulse rate as fast. I guess a lot comes down to how you drive as a driver and what you expect from the car where you do the majority of your driving. For me it proves a winner every drive - a real jack of all trades. I'm sure it could be said to be boring in traffic environments having all that power and capability tugging at the leash, with no where to go, but then what Porsche wouldn't? Not saying they cant be, but these cars aren't meant to be confined to city limits....nor is a GT3RS.

Love my TTS and it's perfect for me. I think if depends on your definition of fun. The MB GTS is a hooligan at any speed and it's fun to wrangle it down. The TTS is so much more refined I think. It's a beast when you want it to be otherwise it's totally civil.

Lotta fun but think a good exhaust adds to it.
Lots of versatility in all the driving modes of manual and automatic to keep you entertained.
I have a Cab so the top down adds even more.

my daily is a 997.1TT, but thinking of moving up to a 991.1TTS at some point.

I think it is the ulimate balance of fun and practical.

Never had a car before that left me as happy as my TTS. Every day I'm as excited to get in and drive it as I was on the first day. I've put 4000 miles on her since Jan 1 and I've loved each mile more than the last.

I DD my 991TT and it pi$$es me off to have to drive almost anything else for the daily grind. On the other hand, this weekend I took my Supercharged 928GT for a trip to Maine. The former is far more fun as a DD while the latter is more fun when the purpose is pure entertainment.

It all depends on your definition of fun.

It's awful ...

It barely hits 155mph on the straights and turtles its way to 60mph in 2.6 secs.

It's comfortable and poised, loving when asked and whorish when needed.

It basically hates fun.

I love my 991 TTS which I drive about 40 miles a day during the week. Not quite as emotional as my F cars (traded my 458 for a 488 this weekend) but in sport mode or sport plus it could hold its own with either. Plus you can drop it in standard mode and have a super comfortable ride. It's really an amazing DD. A true GT. Plus the two rear seats means I can take my girls to school.

The car is extremely fun to drive. But there's one thing you must do to make it so -- get rid of that lawnmower like ****ty stock exhaust and get the catless exhaust or at a minimum high flow catted exhaust like a europipe.

The exhaust note is just not inspiring in stock form. But once you free up the airflow you get popping, backfiring rifle shots and a much louder exhaust note when under power.

Acceleration is thrilling, handling is incredible but ride to still good. If you push the PDCC button the ride gets much more more sporty.

It is truly the most versatile go everywhere do anything sports car out there. It sure was fun on goldrush rally seven at circuit of the Americas to be passing Ferraris and Lamborghinis left and right with a car that is half or less of the price, much more reliable and much more usable every day.

Oh and by all means get a tune. With that and some free flow exhaust you'll be doing the quarter-mile in 10.3 everytime if you have grip.

Its fun and its a dd that pretty much is a supercar. Agreed with points on exhaust...I put on Sharkwerks.

Went for a spirited ride this morning in the canyons with my friend in his 458..the car is a beast.
