I would be very interested to hear if anyone has purchased an extended warranty from the dealer when buying a new car. I'd like to keep my car at least 6yrs and if it's worth it would like to consider it. I am thinking Porsche extended warranty not other 3rd party. Any idea how much it would cost? There seems to be a cloak and daggers when negotiating for extended warranty, I'd like to avoid getting ripped off! Thank you for any thoughts?

I assume you can buy the additional 2 year/100K warranty any time prior to standard warranty expiring?

Yes, you have 4 years to take it, they just charge you more, the longer you wait. They gave me $500 off as I took it with the purchase of the car.
Only the original buyer can take it and it's transferable to the next owner if you sell the car. A second owner can not but it.

If the "used" Porsche is purchased from a Porsche Dealer, the Dealer can extend the new owner 2 additional years of Warranty (total of 6 years) to a qualifying car with an increase in allowed mileage to 100,000 miles provided the vehicle passes an extensive Dealer inspection.

Anyone obtained similar or better pricing??

Yes for a total of 6 years and 100K miles, or additionnal 2 years 50K

Yes, from Porsche, by Porsche, same as CPO warranty, simply a continuation of the original warranty for an additional two years or 50k miles (though I would have to check whether there's a $100 per service call deductible).

None of the dealers here seem to be offering anything like this in Houston. I inquired and they are saying it isn't available or offered by them.
Is it limited to Canada currently?

My dealer said the same thing in California, they quoted me a 3rd party for $6500 for 6 years 100K miles with $100 deductible per event. This seems crazy. Can we buy the warranty offered in Canada and will it cover NA? it seems 3rd party insurance company is the only choice in the States!
