Hi Guys. I just bought a 2014 991 Turbo from Porsche Approved Preowned. It has close to 3K miles on it. First day I drove it it was all good. Second day, i noticed when i first drove it in the morning, there was a stutter when the RPM was between idle and about 1800. Even if i tried giving it more throttle, the car started vibrating more as if not enough gas was getting into the engine then after 1800 it went normal.

Also even if when I am on the highway, and the PDK was on 7th and RPM was between 800 and 1000 when i slightly pressed on the gas, it still suttered and vibrated until 1800.

I then noticed that when I had driven the car a little and the oil temp is up in the normal range (rather than cold) all these symptoms, nearly go away, they are still felt sometimes but mostly are greatly reduced.

Anyone know anything about this?? I am kinda worrying, i just want it to be something minor that can be easily fixed. The car is under warranty for another 2 years but still....

Doesn't sound normal at all. Sounds like a trip to the dealer.

Not normal. The 2014 TT had a DME reflash campaign. I had a problem with stalling and rough idle. Had it flashed and all is good. That was 5K ago and not a single issue since then. Good luck.

Sending it to the dealer's on Saturday. I'll be away for a week though. I hope its just a software refresh.

It turned out to be a faulty oxygen sensor! They ordered the part and it needs 2 weeks to get here.

However they said I can drive the car in the meantime....weird!

Had a similar issues they replaced a faulty crank position sensor.

NOT a good impression for new owners that PCNA does not have repair parts in stock. If in Atlanta PCNA stock, should be there next morning!!!!!
If part is in PAG Germany Stock - 2-3 Days!!! 2 weeks is unacceptable!

I have to admit... my dealer recently had the Espresso Brown sunroof trim part overnighted and had every other little part in stock.

An 02 sensor seems really odd to have to wait 2 weeks for. I'd bet $10 my dealer has a bunch of o2 sensors in stock.

I sent them an email explaining that the time frame they proposed is unacceptable. One of the managers replied back saying he will do his best to get me the sensor ASAP. They promised to get back to me within 48 hours the latest.

To be honest, this was the first time I had to deal with Porsche regarding issues of this sort. I have a Cayenne S and I never had anything go wrong with it.

If it wasn't for you guys, I would have accepted the 2 week period they initially suggested. Thanks!

What's up with 2 weeks?? On the occasion my cars have needed parts, they usually arrive overnight but 2-3 days is max.

Sorry but, for a dealer to say, "I'll get back to you within 48hrs" merely to come up with a reply.... REALLY smells bad.

They actually got back to me yesterday promising to have the sensor on Monday/Tuesday max. They will ship it express.

I am hoping they deliver on their promise.

One thing that really irks me with any of VW's owned companies, Porsche included, is when something breaks or stops working it has to be ordered from Europe. What they need to do is have a central warehouse in the USA and stock up on some things that often go wrong! Often times when items need replacing people have to wait two or more weeks. And if you have a VW you are not going to get a courtesy car. Maybe for the Porsche in which case it Largely depends on the specific Dealership and how much you spent on the car.

Porsche has several well-stocked parts depots in North America. If something needs to come from Germany, it is always overnighted to the dealer. The only reason someone should have to wait more than a few business days for a part is if there is a supplier shortage and the part is on backorder.

Thank you for setting me straight. My friend had something like a 2005 Passat and 3 different times he had to wait two weeks or more for the parts to come from overseas.

Then he bought a 2014 991 C4S and something, fore which I do not remember, went wrong on it for it too was a common spuddering coming off idle and having problems around 3000 RPM after shifting in manual, and that part took a few weeks to get here again! Only difference was this time the Dealership gave him an older V8 Panamera for him to drive while he was waiting for his car. The funny thing about this was the VW and Porsche he bought from the same Dealership. The same Dealership also sold Audis too.

Any dealer can get parts from Germany overnighted. It's called PDX and cost $20 or 20% (whichever is more.) I'm going to guess that the dealer likely has to eat the PDX charge for a warranty part.
