So the SC2s worked very well lat weekend. They've now got three full track days on them and I'm guessing they don't have much more than three more. So I'm starting to think about my next set.

I was going to get a set of Trofeo Rs just to try them out and see the difference, but I was talking to a few local PCA members today and many were saying that they favor the Dunlop Sport Maxx Race over both the SC2s and Trofeo Rs.

I've never ran a Dunlop R tire so I don't know anything about them ... they're about $100 cheaper than the TRs. Any thoughts or feedback?

Dumlop are the stickiest of the three, but be ready for 1/2 the life of SC2s

Tire life depends on a lot of factors, including the track you drive, the surface at the track, weather conditions/temps on any given day, and certainly your driving style. With the TTS, if you are too aggressive at corner entry you can push and wear out tires quicker (as well as go slower) so take a look at those factors. I can get 12-15 days out of a set of SC2 at VIR nowadays. Have not tried Dunlop or Trofeo R.

2:04-2:06 is pretty typical. I realize that's entirely too fast without a harness/HANS, but I've ordered these and custom Cobra Misano "30th Anniversary" seats already for the new car coming in July.

Still see plenty of time to squeeze out- as the below video shows. (Just installed AIM Solo DL with Smartycam) How about you?

I was running in the low teens, but it was my 2nd time ever at VIR. I needed you there to help with my line on a lead follow.

That's exactly how I did at Watkins Glen last week. I was running 2:13 and watching the video, I think I can do a 2:03 with a few more days. Guys who know both tracks run very similar times at both. The car was willing but the driver needs more testicular fortitude. I am at VIR at least once a month, so let me know when you want to come up again.

Another note: another friend with a 997 Cup is running 2 flat, so you know we should be doing basically that. He's thinking he can do a 1:56.

I think you run at Sebring mostly? Where?

PBIR is my home track, short and easy.Homestead i have run a bunch too. I have only run Sebring about 6 times, it is fairly difficult. i like chasing cup cars, they teach me the lines.

What are your times at Sebring Karl?
The reason I'm asking is I've been running the stock Pirellis and have been pretty happy but maybe that is because I don't know the difference. 2:27:31 at Sebring.
