Queue "purist" discussion.... 5 ... 4... 3...

Also:

"Among the other innovations planned for the new 911 is an all-digital dashboard, based around the same technology as Audi's Virtual Cockpit, which currently appears in the TT, A4 and Q7 model lines. "

I do not expect to be a fan of this if they go the way of the Audi TT and remove all (most) actual buttons and controls from the center stack. I like actual buttons that I can find and press without removing my eyes from the road and I don't like futzing with GUIs. On the other hand, while Porsche is almost always late to the gadget game, they usually put more thought into it and have opportunity to learn from other's mistakes.

We've had 5 Audi TTs as DDs over the years. I'm going to give the new one a thorough test but my expectations are low.

How do they see it as the next 911 generation? It's too similar to the 991 to be more of a facelift than a new generation.

I'd say it's the new 911 R more like it.
