However, maybe GIAC has a mod to your tune for headers? Don't they have different maps for different configurations? I believe Cobb does. I am planning on getting over to Cobb sometime in the near future and talk to them about taking out my FVD module and putting on their tune. However, I am going to want to know if they need to customize a tune for my exhaust and headers.

One thing that I like about the FVD piggyback is that it senses the change in fuel without having to do anything and I get significantly better results at the drag strip when I add 104 to my 93. At COTA they now offer 101 and I ran on a mix of 101 and 93 as well as on the last run, 101 only. Unfortunately all I have for measuring the performance is overall lap times because my Vbox was unusable due to me misplacing the suction cups. The lap times are not a good measure of any difference made by the race gas.

I upgraded my phone on Friday to the Note 4. I am planning on getting Harry's lap timer and an OBD data collection module that has wifi. The Lap Timer product can manage a GoPro, take HD video through the phone, pull in the OBD data and integrate all of it in finished videos as well as giving me speeds at any point on the track. I won't need the Vbox anymore at the track but will still need it for 1/4 timing.
My GIAC flash has a special subfile for race gas. I paid $400 for it. To access it you plug in the flashloader. It is very effective and has dropped ETs by a half second at least at a high DA

Those fvd headers have been proven to be clearly a problem and no amount of tuning is ever going to correct the core issue there. I mean logically how could it? There is just so much BS with a lot of this stuff - best accept the fact and move on. That graph on 6 says it all.

Here is the dyno graph of my car with the FVD headers and with stock headers. In both dyno pulls the car has the champion intercoolers and GIAC stage 2 plus, Europipe exhaust, IPD plenum, BMC filter and Champion race diverted valves. In both pulls the car is running pump gas at 93 octane.

The graph says it all. I just can't see under any scenario (stock or tuned) how AM headers could possibly improve performance unless being double walled. AM's need to improve on what is there already, not just make something that looks pretty and peddle snake oil. I see much the same thing with all of this heat retentive aluminium intake tubing making its way to the market. Desirably you would have all the intake ducting/tubing made from moulded composite (excepting the IC cores). Thankfully CMS is using the CF on some of it. They really ought to replace that IPD alloy slug with one made from CF or composite and also make it fit the cars systems properly, the manufacturing costs would be negligible, possibly cheaper. The sales would roll in I'm sure.

Interesting dyno. Not what I expected. I would have expected yours to put down 560-565 wheel hp on pump gas.

Your car, which has the Tubi catless race exhaust, put down less wheel hp on Renntech's Dynojet than my car with the same mods but with a catted Europipe exhaust on Champion's Dynojet. My result was 550 wheel horsepower which is more than yours. I would have expected the opposite result but different dynos can read differently. And I don't know what the conditions were when Renntech did the dyno pull on your car. I wish I could've been there the same day that I don't mind to do a side-by-side comparison.

Your wheel torque number was higher than mine which I would have expected as Champion says my cats cost me 35 lbs ft of wheel torque and 10 wheel hp.

Looking forward to seeing your quarter mile ETs and traps at PBIR once temps drop.

In the end I decided to switch my exhaust to Tubi catless. Should be installed tomorrow. Didn't want to leave 10 wheel hp and 35 wheel torque on the table. Keeping my Europipe if I decide that my neighbors or I cannot live with the extra noise of the Catless. EP is such a great exhaust and so well made. Not an easy decision at all. If I find that I just can't live with the extra noise I will put my EP back on and part out the Tubi catless

Unless both cars are on the same Dyno at close to the same time, you can't compare one to the other. There could be a world of difference between the two cars, or they could be the same, but you won't know unless you test them together on the same Dyno.

I hear you. I already have the Dyno results on my car from champion's Dyno with Europipe.

we will be doing dyno pulls with the tubi catless to see the difference.

Do another few baseline runs just before you swap pipes...your old runs are not likely going to be the same on a different day. This way, you'll have your real gains showing once you swap.

I'm not sure if that is necessary because champion's dyno room is kept at the same temperature and conditions regardless of the weather outside. In other words if they do it the same day again great but I don't believe it will affect the results as it is the same car same Dyno and same atmospheric conditions inside the room.

Yes, but atmospheric pressure changes...and that affects the Dyno output as well. They can't control that. Been there done that! 10 HP is very to gain/ lose. Time of day can change that...

Hmm that sounds like an error factor, i.e. a contributor to margin of error. Not much credibility in a 10hp difference plus or minus then.

Ok, The truth is the tech that dyno my care did not have a clue how to cool a 911. I drove up from Palm beach in 90 degree heat right on to the dyno.
No AC in shop
Did a couple of runs with only one front fan.
Then additional runs with fans blowing at the side intakes.
After I called Champion, we finally moved fans to rear blowing on inter-coolers, thus, the ones on the graph I posted.
Basically, a waste of time.

Nice new 4 wheeled dyno though at Renntech!
Champion does their test on two wheel dyno with front drive shaft disconnected.

Th truth is the car is running great with the new inter coolers.
