There seems to be so many things that can be done when ordering a Porsche that arent detailed via the configurator...(I guess I should be happy that there are many options). Thanks.
My stock CL wheels were painted (not powder coated) gloss black by a specialty shop before delivery. The dealership I bought the car from arranged it.

There is a lot of info regarding the difference between painting and powder coating. The short version is that powder coating is more robust but a lot more difficult to repair if curbed/damaged. If you have steel brakes then powder coating is usually preferable because of the corosive nature of brake dust, but that can be mitigated with a ceramic coating on painted wheels. The main reason I chose paint over PC, even though it was more expensive, is that I track my TTS, and the heat cycling/curing that's part of the PC process weakens forged wheels, especially the thin spokes which is their weakest point. The secondary reason was the aforementioned ease of repair in case of damage.

If done proprely both ways will look identical, so it's more dependent on how you use your car and what you prioritize.

Anyone here have the sport classic wheels on a carmine red car? Seems like a good combo, but I haven't been able to find any examples.

Yup, same with everyone else. Love the CL from the TTS.

I like the 991.1 TTS CL's much better than the 991.2's CLs.

Where's the option to paint them glossy black from the factory?

Come on.... The 991.2 CL wheels like the rest of the car are way better than the TTS 991.1!

Both .1 and .2 CL's look equally as good to me.....hard to notice, and I must wonder if .1 wheel's design was supplied on the .2 car as being the later design would we be hearing the same thing?

Agree the performance of the .2 is improved but "way better"? Come on...

Just wait until you see the '18. It will make that '17 look like a '64 Falcon.

LOL!! It will relegate the 17 into a museum piece! And, if they ever have a run, the guy with the '18 will need a pair of binoculars to spot the '17 in his rear view mirror....
