Default multifunction steering wheel--shifting

In shopping for a 991 TT(S) I notice that with the MSW package (844) the paddle shifters are imbedded in the steering wheel whereas without the package regular paddle shifters are located behind the wheel. So I'm seeking opinions on which gives a better shifting experience. I wouldn't really miss steering wheel controls to operate the stereo, etc.

Yes on the multifunction steering wheel, which my car has, there are no paddle shifters but rather shift buttons. I don't like them. I do like the controls on the steering wheel for the other things on the car but I sure wish that wheel had paddle shifters.

My dealer told me to get the paddle shifter wheel for resale. I too like the MF wheel. Oh well.

Definitely paddle shift!
In a perfect world the paddle shift wheel would/should have a "heated wheel" option....
MF is nice but not necessary.

I have a carbon multifunction wheel with heated steering I'd gladly swap you for a sport design wheel.

Just as I expected and many thanks for the answers. Guess I'm ruling out the 844 package!

I love the look of the carbon wheel but hated the shift buttons. I went for the paddle shift. Love it.

I use the Buttons on my Panamera's MF wheel, and the Paddles on my GT3. I find both equally convenient
but the additional functions available on the MF wheel tilt my preference to that. It is certainly easier and more intuitive for new car drivers to remember L is downshift and R is upshift, rather than whether you push or pull for up or down shifting. I don't understand why Porsche cannot offer a MF Wheel with paddle shifters on 911s - as they do on the Macan, especially considering the huge number of other cars, even econoboxes, that offer these steering wheel functions. New 911s are Waaaaaay behind the curve on this despite their 6 figure prices.

They are way behind the curve on a lot of other things besides the steering wheel lol.
