Fair warning there is no "switched" hot wire up by the mirror in my car (vert). I have a switched hot wire in my other cars and it is sweet as the detector turns off with the key.

Only saving grace is my detector has an auto off function that in case I forget to turn it off it will shut off after 5 minutes.
Thanks!!

Default First Road Trip

So we took the Porsche on the first road trip. Usually when we go to Vegas it is all about the destination and getting there quickly. This time it was about the journey. We had a great time.

Here are a few of my comments/observations regarding the car after a longer trip.
  1. We got 21 MPG which I thought was excellent.
  2. Comfort was amazing. I needed to adjust the seats a bit throughout the trip but now they are dialed.
  3. You can be going 100 very quickly and not even know it. She's fast.
  4. Passing a car is shear delight. 70 to 90 and back down is so fast and quick to get around slower cars.
  5. No matter how far away you park, folks love to park next to you, crazy.
  6. I am REALLY happy with the MAX2 detector. Previously I have owned the 9000xi, this one is better in my book.
  7. Lastly I am so glad I detailed the car before the trip. We caught some rain and it just bounced right off the freshly treated paint.

I will post a few pics shortly.

So I tried LC today for the first time. Holy crap. I had butterflies like I was a teenager walking up to my dates house before prom

That was fun. I was up early and had some wide open road. Also 60-111 is about as quick as I would have thought.

I went to the local C&C. Amazing how a $180K car gets zero looks at C&C. I am ok with that BTW, I am not an "attention grabbing" type person.

I haven't posted in a bit but was wondering?

Do you guys literally just sit there and look for places to go just to get the car out or does it need to be some big road trip?

I am literally sitting here bright and early this Father's Day thinking of what donut shop I can go to that is just far enough away to go for a little drive and I can be back before the family wakes up. That weird?

Also a VERY happy Father's Day to all out there.

Not weird at all! I drove mine to the grocery store yesterday just to see what fresh fish they had available. Before I had completed the sentence to the wife about taking the 911 and if she wanted to go she blurted out YES! I've yet to take the car however on any trips of any distance unfortunately, except for the 3.5 hour trip home from my dealer when picking the car up.

Not strange at all. I go out for drives with zero destination in mind. This is what differentiates us from point A to point B type drivers. We consider our cars a piece of interactive sports equipment, not a utilitarian toaster.

I think it is on the oil cap under the engine cover. Don't know off the top of my head.

Thanks. I am sure it is. Just being lazy and didn't want to take off the cover.
