C&D Camparo -TTS vs Z06 vs GTR Nismo
Just got the April C&D. I couldn't find the article online, sorry. TTS is declared the best car of the comparo, but it came in 2nd to the Z06 based mostly on price.
I don't put stock in these magazine test times, but this TTS smoked the competition. Z06 had a manual box.
Z06 - 3.3 sec to 60, 11.5 @ 125 1/4 mile
Nismo - 2.9 sec to 60, 11.0 @ 128 1/4 mile
TTS - 2.5 sec to 60, 10.6 @ 130 1/4 mile
I'm the first to say that the times that matter are the ones you see at the strip. And I am sure that even with a manual box, good racers will see 10's in their Z06. But the speed of this particular TTS is just amazing.

Seems like C&D tested a particularly strong TTS. Benchmarks for a long time for the stock TTS are 2.6 seconds 0 to 60 and 10.9 ET for quarter mile.
Did the tested TTS have an R compound tire as opposed to the regular stock P Zeros?

Tires won't help trap speed, mine only trapped 125 before the tune and about 131-132 post tune. They would help on the 0-60.

They said TTS was a better car but not twice as good as Z06. Z06 won on price. Take the price points out the vet is not close. Vet is great car but not a 911 turbo.

Going back to the track in two weeks when I hope we are in the 50s. Launch control might actually work after heating the tires.

Traction will make a big difference on a 0-60 time.
In my experience the P-Zeros are very cold-blooded. They are not very sticky until they are warm and very sticky when hot. I could easily see a 0.1 - 0.3 second difference based on core temperature of the P-Zeros along with hot high-friction pavement.

I can't believe how fast a stock TTS is -- 2.5 0-60 is insane for a car...and a 10.6 1/4 stock...geez! I can't wait to get delivery of my 2016. I have plenty of high HP cars and not one of them can get a 2.5 0-60...
My FGT runs over 850 to the wheel and she won't do it either.

C+D use a 1 foot roll out and have be known to cheat (especially on P car tests).
I have seen the EXACT same car they tested at 2.6 secs 0-60 mph and 5.8 secs 0-100 mph doing 0.4 secs slower in real world vbox testing by actual Porsche engineers, one of whom is my 2nd cousin and a test engineer.......
Take any car magazine/o-zine test with a grain of salt.
remember those autocar tests of the 918 vs P1 where they both put down 0-100 mph times WAY slower than factory estimates but inline with what I have seen tested in real time....
Other car magazines with the same 2 cars were getting remarkably (unverified by vbox) quicker times to appease Porsche and McLaren
ie car companies lie and a few car editors help them

I don't disagree, but there are plenty of factors that can influence times...and a .1 second difference could be attributed to any one of them. DA's, location...temps...driver...etc. We know that no two cars are exactly the same...and this one could have been a bit stronger than others

My times were all Vbox verified results. The best non roll out Vbox 0-60 was 2.7s. The Vbox 1ft times for 0-60 can be .2s better than the straight dig times. Stronger or not, I don't see how it did 130 trap and I think that was probably terminal but even that is too strong for a non-modded car.
