Default 991 Turbo Targa Rumors

Back in January when Porsche introduced us to its new-old acceptance of the Targa term , the action didn’t just take place in Detroit. Their video also has an Easter Egg. The clip, which is waiting for you below, includes a few scenes that show the the rear wing wearing what seems to be the signature air intake of the 911 Turbo models.
Now I am very curious if someone have heard something about 991 Turbo Targa lately. Any rumors or details?

Looks good and I have a feeling it will happen. They spent a lot of $$ developing that roof mechanism and it would be cool if they can make it happen with the Turbo/S. Only issue might be the rear wing as the Targa roof goes back further than the normal cab roof mechanism, but could be wrong.

My dealer called an asked if wanted to get on W/L as he expects announcement soon. Not sure how they will handle the back wing.

If this happens, will it be the first 911 that tips the scale at 4000 lbs?

Only speculation. As you know, sales is usually last to really know info from mother ship.

Any more news/speculation on a Turbo Targa? Is it really going to happen? When? I am debating now between a Targa GTS or a Turbo. Given that neither is the ideal car for me, I may not do either, or I may do one but I would regret making that compromise if Porsche announced a Turbo Targa in the next year. I would pull the trigger on that in a heartbeat and trade in my current Turbo cab (997.2 PDK).

I heard various rumors about 991 Turbo Targa, starting from that the car is in the pipeline and ending that the project haven't got the green light(what is hard to believe), but all of those rumors was about 6 months ago. No fresh actual constructive info since then. Well, I don't know, maybe there were no demand and Porsche had to freeze this project...
