Default Glass roof questions.

Picked up a white 2015 tts two weeks ago and have two questions about the glass roof.

1). There is a white line all the way across the front that looks like a scratch. Dealer (out of state) says he thought it was residue of the sticky tape that covers the car in transit. He suggested soapy water and rub with microfiber cloth. Didn't work. Any thoughts. I can always drop it at the detail shop I guess.

2). This black looks amazing but also looks like a scratch magnet. Any thoughts on protection folks have done. My had the front full end XPEL'd (is that a verb now). Thinking adding XPEL to this? Thoughts.

Thanks.

#1 your dealer should be correct, try to clean using wax that contains cleaner in it, cheap soft99 fusso brand will do.

I personally would rather deal with a few rock chips than the film. I have bought a few cars that have been filmed I don't think it looks as good as the paint.

Glass roof and sunroof should not be filmed.
As for paint, you can't even tell mine is filmed; even up close.

Is the black part of the roof really glass? I thought only the sunroof was glass and the other parts some painted body parts. It looks the same finish as the spoiler in my Pani GTS??

No I don't think they're glass either.

I have film on certain parts of my car. At the moment I can't recommend it. There are some small bubbles (which may go away) but more importantly part of the wing panel came off and the underside of the a wing mirror. It is going back in to be redone FOC. They've said it has either been vandalised or jet washed too close... I was jet washing AFTER the quarter panel came off but if it comes off the mirror at the distance I was at (at least 3 feet away) then god knows what will happen when someone else cleans it!

On the PRO side - the film which I think is Suntek is very clear indeed. Paintshield (UK company) do not cut on the car so you can see edges if you look hard and dirt can highlight it but it is impressive overall.

I think, for those of you who haven't read my thread on problems, you should be aware that my luck with this car has been pretty awful so most of you will probably not have any problems with film

The black part is painted aluminum - matches base black. Treat accordingly.

Painted aluminum that's helpful. The rest of your answer, not so much.

So the base black color has a clear on it of course but scratches very easily, so wax it like you would any other black car. Clay bar it first, then polish then protective wax coating. Sorry I didn't mean to obfuscate the care piece.
