As you know Bel is a subsidiary to Escort and the Bel product really is the exact same minus the segmentation. Folks on the escort side say the segmentation leads to less false signals but both units have auto learn for such false signals based on GPS, and if you are in a new area that your detector hasn't "learned" yet you want a more aggressive KA unit rather one that is less so?

Id like to see your tests or literature on the AL units versus the NEW Escort laser units (they were updated in 2014).

So the the difference between this and the escort is this has a kill switch, whereas the escort has a temporary function to allow lasers to read your speed?
They were costly as there is a lot of labor (like 14 hours on my car) to install them. I would call Detailing Dynamics for pricing. I got a good price because they were part of a much larger two car mod package.

The USB stick when inserted into the USB drive permanently disables the laser jammer function and turns them into parking sensors. Another USB stick restores them back. The laser jammers are no substitute for full parking sensors as there are only two in front and two in back. But they are functional after the USB stick insert. It takes about 4 seconds for the USB stick to completely change them.

There is a radar and laser forum that has all of this information.

Classic non answer, answer. Sounds like you bought what ever nonsense you were told probably at an increased profit margin. Everyone who is well informed knows the escort units are the top of the line. If you doubt me just check the forums....

Geez Louise a little strident now aren't we? I can assure you that I did my research and took the extensive modding of my 991 TTS very seriously.

Here are some of the articles I looked at in vetting the AL Priority as the best currently out there:

http://radarandlaserforum.com/conten...-Head-Shootout

http://www.raletc.com/2014/09/2014-r...shootout-live/

https://www.prbuzz.com/automotive/27...hampion-1.html

If you have articles declaring that the new Escort laser jammer is the best on the market then by all means please do post them. I am going on Goldrush Rally 7 and sure do want the best laser jammers on the market for my 991 TTS. My own research confirmed to my satisfaction that that is the AL Priority unit. But my mind is always open to reasoned persuasion backed up by facts rather than bald accusations that I am somehow naive.

You got too much stuff going on in your front grill now. I would have hid the jammers in the intakes.

Interesting thought. Would that location reduce the effectiveness of the laser heads?

Yes, They need to be where they are. It's in same location on my car. Recessing the will reduce protection.

Car looks fabulous. You should be very proud. Finally deserved time to drive it and enjoy. Don't look back.

Thanks so much. Yes I know the laser heads are precisely where they need to be to be effective and that recessing in the intakes would reduce their efficacy.

Already driven it about 300 miles since getting it from DD. It will go back in President's week for the performance mods and clear tails/spoiler brake light.

It wouldn't drop performance 5%. I've had the jammers in a similar lateral position in my f430, Gallardo my GTS and most recently my Italia, and they work perfectly. I've been tagged several times and never gotten a single ticket. They also look a ton better than that install. I hate to say it but that looks terrible for such a "high end job" I'd get them moved at no cost especially with all the work they did for you.

Thanks. I am happy with the work and the install.

That being said, please do post pics of the front laser jammer head installs in your rides. Will be interesting to see the contrast. Always interested to see if there is a better way to do things.

Not true. You don't have to stick them IN the intakes. I mean on the vents themselves. See if the new turbo s had vents across the front like the GT2 RS it would hide it. But because it is a huge hole, it now looks like too much gadgetry.

Looking at the front I feel the main distracting feature is actually the centrally mounted auto cruise control thing. If I were to consider moving anything that tooth would be my main focus. In comparison the radar jammers appear a minor issue in terms of aesthetics in that area even though I would agree locating in the side vents would be less obtrusive. I guess it all comes down to whether they will work as well there too. Sometimes function simply has to take over form I'm afraid, and this appears to be one of those occasions. Not to worry OP. It is still an awesome car and that's all that matters in the long run. No point getting too nit picky.
