Default Atco 10.862 @ 127.94 mph

I made it down to Atco for the season finale with my TT (Europipe exhaust). Not too many cars. Used my Chicken Hawk Racing tire warmers. They helped, but I still managed to bog each time just after I took off. Too much power for launch control on a cold surface.

Ran 4 times. Best run was a 10.862 @ 127.94 on a 1.60 60' time. I did a lousy job of timing my runs, so I would heat my rear tires to 175 degrees but then get to the staging lanes and be forced to sit a bit. Did back to back runs twice. The second in each pair was slower than the first with a worse launch. Our tires need heat to launch.

Worst run was a 11.040 @ 127.67 on my worst 60' of 1.727. Also ran 10.9 twice.

Guys watching from the stand said they could see and hear the car bog after I got out of the hole. The RPM's did not drop to 2k, but there was definitely some RPM drop. I guess I will be back in March for a rental where I can go from the tire heaters to the tree without having to wait.

If you bogged down you had plenty of grip, especially in launch control? 10.86 is getting most of it for a TT....how much more do you think was left on the table?

It was a top of first rpm bog. Guys I was with saw the nose come back down. It was as if the launch control was easing off trying to maintain contact in the highest part of the rev range. I wish I had mounted a camera in the car to watch the tach. I think there is a 10.7 run in there. I know the feeling when the l/c keeps me pressed back hard into my seat past 60 mph with that pressure in my chest that makes it impossible not to smile. I didn't feel that today. I checked my g-meter after each run and it didn't exceed the 1.30 I hit on the street when I got the car in July.

When I used to run my E55 over and over at these rentals, I knew that nothing was going to improve my time and speed except maybe better air. Launches were perfect and the car just went.

Don't get me wrong - I had a blast today. But I didn't need to see my time slips to know I didn't have my best runs. I could feel it.

Those are good numbers. I only got close to that with my TTS before tune so you did well. My best before tune was 10.9 @126.1 albeit a +1800 DA.

With repeated runs you probably got quite a bit of heatsoak in the E55.

Actually, the second of my back to back E55 runs was typically better because the tires were warmer from the run and my 2nd 60' time was slightly better. I usually did not run more than two runs between sitting with the hood up and a bag of ice on the supercharger housing. I didn't have heat soak problems because my rentals were always in cooler weather.
