Default Ready for Winter

I mounted my winter wheel and tire set on my TT over the weekend. I decided to go with HRE FF01s with Michelin Pilot Alpins. Huge props to John and Dave at Wheel Enhancement, who offered excellent guidance, very competitive pricing and fantastic customer service. They really know the 991 and the products they sell. The fitment is great and (predictably) the car feels so much more planted in the cooler temps. Some pics attached.

Looks great. Do you drive the QX? My wife has one (also matches the color of my 991). God, that thing is a boat.

You might want to consider black porsche OEM center caps for next winter. Not sure if they match the finish.

I drive the QX when we go out as a family on the weekends, but it's my wife's DD. The thing truly is a boat, but it's got lots of space for kids and stuff, and it's reasonably powerful (with 400 HP, it's reasonably quick and responsive). I was thinking about black Porsche center caps, but was nervous that the finish wouldn't match. The HREs are a very matte black, while I think the Porsche center caps are more of a gloss black, but I could be mistaken. Perhaps a modest "mod" to consider for next winter . . .

Thanks, appreciate it! I was a bit apprehensive as I'd always admired black wheels but never had them on a car before. I do like the way they came out.

I quite agree...I would use the OEM wheel with snows as my winter set up. That car looks friggen nice with those HREs.

Ahh I see now his wheels are flow form. No, then he is better using them as winter wheels, because his stock wheels are forged and more expensive on the turbo.

Exactly my calculus. These are flow forms and are less expensive than the OEM forged wheels.

How are you liking the Alpins? My car was finished Friday, meaning I should get it by February. I was originally scheduled for a February PTS build, but, apparently when they nixed my PTS they also moved the build up by a couple months (?????? - WTF?).
So, I may have the dealer mount snow tires before delivery on the stock wheels for now and am starting to look at winter tires with wheels to follow. I like the pics of the Velos SO2s but haven't been able to see them in the flesh. I'm not wild about the stock wheels and would probably leave the snows on them.
Thanks.

I like the Alpins and was extremely satisfied with them last year (I had them mounted on my '13 C2S). Never had a traction or performance issue.
