It's a little louder around 2000-2400 rpm but quieter below which is opposite of the exhaust on my m5. However, that said, I wouldn't call it a drone but that is a subjective judgment. The Porsche engine is just so much louder in the cabin anyway that I really don't distinguish what might be characterized as drone from the normally loud engine.
