Inevitable, eventually.

If they use hybrid like 918, LaF, P1 to up performance & save dinosaur juice in the bargain, I would think that's a win-win...T

Without question there will be a hybrid turbo. Perhaps as a 2016, but more likely later. There was a discussion about this topic here several months ago and magazine speculation of 700 hp. When it arrives, it probably will be at a higher price of at least 10% more than base prices now. It will be very popular, IMO. It will be a compelling vehicle in many respects. Might even have a salutary impact on the market value of gas powered current turbos. As the 911 has evolved, hybridization is yet another big and logical step, not unlike water cooling and PDK transmissions. The evolution of the 911 is unique and one of the more interesting phenomena in automobile history.

Seems this would be a logical step/progression for the next generation 911 Turbo; could use knowledge gained from 918 project. however this would be such a radical update for a mid cycle refresh on the current 991 platform, so it seems unlikely.

Certainly seems plausible. It will interesting to watch the progression from the 918.

Judging on progression of Porsche models, I don't see it happening until 2016/17
