Default Oil consumption

Hadn't checked the oil level in ages and today with 7500kms (~4600mi) on the odo the gauge reads down one bar from the original factory fill's normal.... 1/2 litre later it's back to normal.

Curious what others are finding now that mileage is starting to rack up on their cars.

I’ve got 2 of the five indicator squares lit up green after 6400 miles. I don’t remember if the factory fill was green at all the squares.

Will be using Redline at the first yearly change in December.

Note: I didn't need to add oil, it was only down 1 bar from full but was heading on a 2k km road trip so though I'd top up! After adding JUST 500 ml of oil, the car tells me I was "over full"..... Grrrr!!

Right. Each bar is about 340 ml. Should only add about 200 ml at a time between drive cycles until you have it where you want it.

On my last car (zr1) the motor had to be at operating temp before checking the oil. Is it the same with the tt or can we check the oil level at any time, warm or cold?
Your catching up to me with the kms Peter!

The book says get the engine to operating temperature, park on a level surface, turn off the engine, wait a minute, then run the check.

My car is at ~7400 and I'm down two blocks from the full line. It was at the full line at four green blocks on delivery.

After a great weekend traveling through Adirondack's NY, through Green Mtns of VT and the White Mtns of NH we logged 1400kms. Excellent time and a great car in every aspect for a long road trip!

Odo is now at 8900 kms.
