Why not alot of Dark Blue Metallics?
Odd to see 2014 TTS in plenty Black/White/Gray etc.
Why not Dark Blue Metallic? Its a great color on my BMW. Is it not traditional or is it upkeep or is it resale?
Wondering...
I admit I am an Agate grey guy, but Blue is very deep and rich!

I think blue is cool too but not the best resale color.

Blue is just not an "in" color at the moment, who knows, I think that most dealers just play it safe and go with traditional colors, like black, silver and white. When you spend this kind of money on a car we tend to think what is best for resale. My 2cents....

I have a 2014 Dark Blue Metallic TT which frequently receives "what is that color, it's beautiful" type comments at local PCA events and Cars and Coffee events. I bought it because I liked it's various colors based upon different lighting and angels and because it wasn't Black, White or Silver.

I have one on order after seeing one in a local dealership. Was going to go with silver because of the upkeep issues but changed it a couple of hours before the order lockdown.
I know it will be more work to keep clean but I love the color. The car looks pretty good in all of the colors.

I have always wondered why blue is traditionally such a minority of the car colors available on the lots, and why dealers do not order more. The worries about resale value do not hold true in reality, I have never had any problem trading or selling a blue vehicle and have actually found just the opposite: plenty of people want unique colors and actively search for them. i wonder how common blue is in Europe and Asia; is the "white-black-silver" thing a U.S. dealer phenomenon?

DBM is a beautiful color but it is not a popular one for any of the 991 models, Turbo or otherwise. You don't see it much on Carreras, Targas or GT3s either.

Thanks all. I agree DBM is a real nice color option. I am considering changing to DBM from Agate grey. Seems rich and a wonderful color in light and dark.
