Default DYI oil change

That is my Rennlist post on the C2s oil change. Just did my 2014 TT Cab oil change at 1750 miles this weekend. Same as the C2s. Only difference is the space between the spoiler and top cover is a little tighter. Took the same 35 minutes.

Good to know the turbo Cab is not much different. I raised the rear lid the other day and thought, man that's a tight area to try and get to the oil filter! No way I'm going to wait one year or 10K miles to change the oil. Probably use RedLine oil too. If I recall from the independent studies I saw it was one of the top ranked for full synthetic oils, Mobil1 was way down the list. What 3" ramps did you purchase?

I made the ramps out of some left over plywood. Just stair stepped some 3/4 inch plywood. It is just high enough to easily slide my oil catch tub under the car. This time I didn't jack up the front to level the car. The oil drain is all the way to the front of the pan so the slight incline didn't seem to matter. BTW I got a full 8.5 quarts out of the sump.

Does it use the same filter wrench as the 997's?

I don't know if it's the same in the Turbo(pretty much think it is),but a 6 point socket seems just fine to unscrew the oil filter cap.

Good info, thanks!
Would ultimately like to get the proper filter wrench so if anyone knows a p/n or size, that would be great as well!

Amsoil is superior. I used Redline as well in the earlier days, but after reading several tests (Google it), Amsoil takes the cake.
