991 TT at Porsche World Roadshow
Participated in the Porsche World Roadshow at Monticello Motor Club today. In addition to driving a number of vehicles I have never driven (Boxster GTS, Cayman GTS, Panamera GTS, Targa 4S, and Macan Turbo), the instructors from the Porsche Driving Academy took each of the participants on a hot lap around the track (shortened configuration but still a good ride.). To see what these cars can do when driven with anger is just incredible. The insane speed, grip and braking power are too hard to describe. I saw the speedo reading 138 before the instructor went HARD on the brakes to bring it into a tight right. They have cameras mounted in the car facing out and one facing you. They gave me a thumb drive with a file of the lap that shows track position, forward view, my stupid grin and a speedometer all at the same time. Really spectacular. The TT is more car than most of us will ever use. But now I know what it can do.

Sniff sniff, I couldn't go, damn. I hear they are a beast on the track.
Where are you located, NYC?

An old friend from the vette forums is trying to get me down there. I would need to make it a combo trip to Atlantic City because it is just too far for a day trip.
