Stolen Turbo Vent

I guess someone needed them more than I did. I just happened to be researching BlackVue cameras right before I stumbled across the scene of the crime. This is what I get for not having a garage.

Filed a claim with insurance. Dealer has to order parts. Just a big inconvenience really.

You would be shopping for wheels too had it not been for the center lock wheels

Sucks. Hope no paint damage. Always own a home with a garage before buying a +$180k car.

I will consult you for real estate before my next car purchase. You seem to know a lot.

Here's a quote from dealer for those interested in knowing how much German plastic costs.

as if Turbo owners would be scouring the Bay or Craig's List for replacement " take offs " ...what is the market for stealing these ?

Cool. Let me know when you're ready. I know a guy.

Sorry about your vents.

PMAA 06-11-2014 08:10 PM

Really sorry to see this....I would hope insurance will take care of the total cost.

PcardoMontalbon 06-11-2014 08:38 PM

Took the car in to one of these new Progressive Insurance centers in Pasadena. You wait for 30 minutes while they survey the damage, then walk out with a check for the approx cost. It was a real convenient end to a really inconvenient day.

Parts are on order through dealer expected in roughly 2 weeks.

You keep a 911 Turbo outside at night...That is crazy...Get a daily beater and find a place for your car a night...
You are luckly that is all that happened to your car..Lot of Asxx out their...

Of course two pieces of plastic is excessive at $1400, however, I think the labor at $330 is even worse. I assume that is three hours of labor to snap two pieces of plastic into their respective tabs. Sounds like 5 min to me unless I am unaware of something.

rijowysock 06-12-2014 01:49 AM

looks like dealer took advantage of your bad luck, no discount on parts and 6x the labor needed.. they literally just pop in.

Mcx 06-12-2014 08:34 AM

$330 labour.. madness

neanicu 06-12-2014 09:37 AM

It's good insurance will pay for everything. Otherwise,I would've suggested if you're in the NYC area I could've popped those in for you at the price of one beer. :biggulp:
It's hard to imagine why someone would steal these.... I can only imagine they've done it out of spite to screw you...sort of " screw this rich guy! " Whether it's hard for a normal person to comprehend this kind of behavior,it's out there, believe it or not...
