SportAuto magazine pits TTS against GT3
Thought this was a great read, and figured folks here would enjoy it (linked from another board).
Cheers. http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showpos...&postcount=641 (translation) http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showpos...&postcount=643 (full scanned magazine images) |
Great !!!! Thanks for posting it :)

Interesting. I thought there were reports of 991 TTS beating 991 GT3 around Nurbergring, putting 991TTS under 7.30s. It saddens me to see TTS slower than GT3 and MP4.

Don't care, GT3 way more fun to drive.

Turbo-S in Sport+ mode is pretty close to GT3

The “official” Nurburgring Lap times, tells a different story <http://fastestlaps.com/tracks/nordschleife.html> It is hard to reconcile the large differences in Porsche lap times reported by Horst Von Sarma and reported by Porsche using their “Factory Driver”. Horst von Sarma reported a Nurburgring Lap time 7:32 for the GT3 on R compound Tires while Porsche reported a lap time of 7:25 on the same tires. Horst reported a Nurburgring Lap time of 7:34 for the Turbo S on R compound Tires while Porsche reported a lap time of 7:24 on OEM Tires. That is a HUGE difference in Nurburgring Lap Times. Similarly Porsche registered a Nurburgring Lap time of 7:18.00 by Timo Kluck in the 997 GT2RS while Sport Auto (11/10) reported a much slower 7:24 in the same model. Large differences also exist on SA postings on the Hockenheim Short Course. Sport Auto originally posted a 991 GT3 Lap Time of 1:08.00 by a "Porsche Factory Driver” on the Hockenheim Short Course in their 04/2013 issue. See Below: "Hockenheim Short, Germany (2604 m) The Hockenheimring Baden-Wrttemberg is an automobile racing track situated near the town of Hockenheim in Baden-Wrttemberg, Germany. Amongst other motor racing events, it holds the annual Formula One German Grand Prix. Situated in the Rhine valley, the circuit is completely flat, without any changes in elevation. The "Hockenheim Short" configuration is used by popular German car magazine "Sport Auto" in their infamous "Super-tests". That's why this is the most popular racetrack in fastestlaps.com with more then 300 lap times."
