Why would they release the standard turbo and the S at the same time? I thought S' were usually released at end of generation?

Makes a lot of sense to avoid hard feelings by new Turbo Owners who no longer have the latest model.
This way we all get a choice when placing the order. If the 997-2 TT was any indication, the price of the
Turbo S includes all the go-fast stuff at a price actually lower than the Standard Turbo comparably equipped.

I will take the 5 lugs. I don't need to pay extra for parts that are going to be recalled.

I see zero likelihood of a recall. But there will be something in the owners manual saying the centerlocks have to be replaced periodically if tracked. That's a huge operating cost increase.

Looks like they are not waiting until the Stuttgart Show in September to reveal.
Enjoy!
Car sales are declining. It's seasonally advantageous to come to market. VW/Porsche are clearly endeavoring to push the 911 above $200K and open a contrived new model segment in their line-up somewhere in the $50K+ void between the Carreras and the Turbos. I guess we can expect the GT2 to arrive pronto and be around the $250K mark. Maybe there's a new 911 variant or a Cayman variant to come in between $100K and $150K? Maybe a 918 gas engined variant along with the GT2 around the $250K mark? I seem to recall reading that VW execs described the Porsche line-up as insufficient (which was right around the time we were scoffing at the 30+ variants of the Carrera offered as they emptied out the parts bins with the run-out 997's.)

From the second video it appears as if my dream interior has been made. A dual color Espresso/Luxor Beige. I hope that is all in Natural Leather... This would go great in a C4S

Porsche is getting dangerously close to Ferrari pricing. The problem is that a $200,000+ 991 looks just like a sub $100,000 991. After the pent up demand is over, expect massive discounts. When compared to turbo pricing, the GT3 looks like it is value priced (even though it is clearly not so).

They have already recalled the first generation GT3 center locking hubs. I would have to be brain dead to take chance on these. I will take the five lugs thanks.

So was checking out the Turbo on the Porsche website and came across the new Porsche strech limo, the Panamera Executive models. Wow!

Have read that having a stretch back seat is a big deal in the Chinese market.

I think there is too much going on with the rear. They should remove the emphasis in the exhausts or the rear cut outs...and since when did Porsche hire the guy from amg??? The exhausts look like amg's...

I'd prefer a cleaner rear.

I like it better than the standard 991, but not as well as the GT3. It's not as overdone as the 997tt. The 996tt was the last decent looking TT in terms of styling.
