Wheel Repair
When I bought my Turbo S it came with a nice set of 21" HREs. The front has always had a gouge, but tires were new and wasn't worth touching as a daily driver until it needed new tires. It is finally that time. All of the wheels have rock chips and stuff like that, but **** luck for me 2 days ago driving to gym hit a pothole/debris and it dinged up back wheel as well. So got two wheels with some damage, and all 4 needing recoated. So far quotes are $1800-2200 for repair/coating, and then $2500ish for new PS4 tires.
Anyone have any advice or stuff? Seems like either super cheap places that do some epoxy and paint them for a quick repair, or it is a full strip, weld, machine, recoat process. Not really interested in a quick fix but unsure on what cost should be.
Also need to decide on a color. Was thinking a metallic light silver, basically matching the car.

Michelin PS4S are about 1600 these days.....the wheel repair/color change prices, might be too high also........I would get another quote......
Onlinetires.com has good prices on Michelin NO tires....2 years ago I paid around 1200......plus 350 for alignment

Got another quote, 1200 for repair/color/mount/balance and 2300 for tires, and 200 extra if I want special finish/clear coat on the powder. Not bad I think,

Send your wheel damage picture to Wheel Enhancement in So Cal for an estimate. Your wheel repair/refinish quote seems high. Wheel Enhancement does excellent work. https://www.wheelenhancement.com/pro...brands/porsche

I was quoted about $2200 for Michelins and a wheel alignment by local Porsche dealer.

Tires best price I've got is $2300, and that seems like a great deal. I'm not on OEM size wheels. They are 21s front and rear, so 255/30/21 and 325/25/21 rear which run about 580 a tire.

That's a super easy and cheap wheel repair. It was definitely an attempted gouge to try to persuade you to do a full wheel repair and refinish.
I had one almost identical to your first picture on my Turbo S OEM wheels repaired by a mobile wheel repair service without having the dismount tire for $150. Now matter how much I analyze it, I can't find where the repair was made. It took them less than an hour to do it.
I'd estimate all 4 of yours could be done for no more than $600.

Big HRE dealer as well. Includes stuff like painting the wheel weights to match the rims and little details that are nice. So far he is in the lead. Just got to decide on a color. Which silver pops the best.

I can’t speak to pricing, but I can speak to my experience with high end and low end wheel refinishing. I had two wheels from my 997 Turbo refinished. This was a “proper” refinishing that included removing the tires, grinding and polishing the wheels, applying new clear coat, etc. I think it was $400 per wheel. They looked like new wheels when they were finished, and the repair was not noticeable. They remained perfect until I sold the car.
I had the wheels on my 996 C4S refinished at my local Porsche dealer. They use a 3rd party wheel repair service that does the repair with the tires mounted on the wheel. It wasn’t expensive. I think it was $60 per wheel. It looked great for a few months. After that, the repair began to flake and chip a little bit. The next time I had new tires mounted, the mounting equipment scraped off the repair and the wheels looked the same as they did before the repair.

So far best deal is ICE wheel up in Scottsdale. They are recommended by local Lambo place. He sent me a bunch of stuff and seems top notch.
