Default is it normal my car revs to rev limit in neutral?

Hi

I have a 2015 turbo s, in neutral i can rev it to red line, is this normal or might the car be tuned?? I bought from porsche as porsche certified ...

I don’t know the answer to your question. I’ve never tried to rev my car to red line in neutral. I’m curious as to why you would want to do such a thing. Maybe I’m missing something; is there a specific reason that you’d want to run your engine up to red line with the gearbox in neutral?

I believe the rev limiter at 3500 idle came along in the 991.2 generation or 992. I have a 2014 TTS and I can rev to redline if I desired.

992 was the start of the low rpm neutral limiter.
