Hood Opens When Washing Car

Hood Opens When Washing Car
I have a 2016 Turbo S Cab, when I am washing the car and I run the wet towel over the hood emblem the hood unlatches and opens the hood, the key fob is in my pocket. However, when I put the key on the side somewhere away from the car it doesn't pop open.
When the car is dry and I rub my hand across the emblem with the keys in the pocket nothing happens.Anyone else encounter this issue? TIA

have the key fob out of your pocket, touch the emblem and voila!

I leave my key fob in the house when washing the car to prevent this issue.

Yeah I think this is part of the 'enter and drive' option package.
I'm not sure if water is affecting it for you but i think the 'sweet spot' is below the emblem and close to the hood/bumper line.

LOL: Same. I recently took the car to a coin-op for a quick spray and every time the spray touched the front bumper cover the frunk would pop open. As I'm doing other parts (the door handles I think) the lights would be flashing and god knows what else.
I can leave the keys in the house when detailing in the garage so the frunk's not poppin' and the lights aren't flashing when I'm wiping it down but when I'm at the car wash I'm not sure where I can put the key to stop this from happening.
I love the enter and drive feature but this is pretty annoying.

Yes, water affects keyless entry systems. If you place two fingers underneath the Porsche emblem (technically on the bumper, just under the seam) the frunk will pop up (assuming the key is with you).
When washing the car I leave the key a few meters away from it so this doesn't happen.

I have spoke with people that say it doesn’t work well and then put their key in my pocket and it worked just like mine. I hold my hand below the emblem for a second. I don’t wave or swipe. Works every time.

I've found that moving the key just a few metres (maybe 6-10 feet) from the car seems to desensitize things and allow me to detail it and/or spray it without it going wonky. YMMV.
