991.2 Turbo S exhaust recommendation?

Hi there. New to the forum and a first time Porsche owner here after owning majority Audi most of my life. Picked up a 2018 Turbo S on Friday and I am in love with it. Only thing is I would like an exhaust that is a bit louder. Have been looking at a number of options including Fabspeed, Sharkwerks, Akrapovic, etc. Is there a general consensus on the best quality / sounding exhaust for the Turbo S? Hard to tell differences from YouTube clips unfortunately. I searched the forums and didn't come up with much either.

Thanks in advance!

These were my research notes when I was shopping exhausts earlier this summer:

Sharkwerks - cheapest, loudest, "growliest" design - closest to a straight pipe, no resonators or muffler of any kind

Kline - most expensive (Inconel), closest to GT3 "howling banshee" sound, not compatible with stock cats

Soul/Fabspeed/Speedtech - medium price/loudness, X-pipe design, modular system that can use stock cats or aftermarket

Europipe - boutique offering (specializes in 911 turbo exhausts only), hybrid growl/howl-type sound, not compatible with stock cats

FVD Brombacher - very "growly", but has muffler to minimize drone, modular system that can use stock cats or aftermarket

Akrapovic - second only in price to Kline (titanium), not compatible with stock diffuser or exhaust tips

I ended up going with a Soul.

I also went with Soul, retaining factory cats. Sounds great and it is well made.

I used Sharkwerks on a 997.1 GT3 for a long time. It sounded great but that is a very different car than the 991.2 TTS.

If it matters to you, I tracked my GT3 and the Sharkwerks exhaust was awesome. I don’t track my TTS and the Soul exhaust is perfect for my purpose now.

There are no wrong answers, you will probably enjoy any on any of them.

Congrats on the new car!

We have several options from mild to quite loud. I will be happy to offer advice on sound levels.

Enjoy the new car!

Europipe 2 50 cel. You can buy it blindfolded and sign on dotted line its that good as others have said. Only mod to 991 we have made to ours other than a set of wheels recently ;)

How well do the 100 cell cats work, if you are using them?
I'm curious if 100 cell cats do enough to mitigate the exhaust smell?

My own 997 on 98k miles and 40k on EP2 before was on stock exhaust. 991 20k miles. EP no different to OEM other than nicer sound. You will not be disappointed. No smells no obnoxious sound. Just sounds motorsport flat six. The cats are very expensive and on 991 you can even have 50 cel.

Kline Inconel here with 100 cell cats. Drops a chunk of weight. Quiet at cruise. Killer at wide open. Would buy again from @SamboTT@ByDesign

Same here. Love the Jekyll and Hyde design. Sounds almost stock at idle but screams with throttle. Best exhaust I have ever used on any of my cars.

How loud is the Kline when not hard on the throttle?

Close to stock when puttering around. Go ove 50% throttle and it really starts to sound G O O D

I did a pretty thorough review of my exhaust shopping and a video about my selection of Soul -

I wanted as aggressive as I can get, without drone...and without breaking the bank. In addition, I live in California and really need the ability to run my OEM cats if need be. That limited my options fairly substantially, as many aftermarket systems come with their own cats, or cats that wouldn't be CA legal.

Very happy with my FVD Brombacher setup...very inexpensive compared to most of these other exhaust options ($1900)...quality german made by M&M.

Mated with Soul performance bypass tubes, it's about as aggressive as you can get, minus the bad drone of catless, basically straight pipe setups (when using Sharkwerks, Quicksilver, SpeedTech, etc). In normal driving/cruising, there is a bit of drone but never to where it bothers me and I'm very drone sensitive.

As said, this FVD setup allows me to throw my stock cats back on if I need to for the CA smog nazi's.

My friend is running the Sharkwerks catless setup and his is definitely a bit louder and more-aggressive, with considerable more drone in the cabin.

All my buddies are telling me my car sounds great from behind. ;) Loud burbles/pops in sport plus.

Flames too. ;)

Nicely done.
That exhaust does sound pretty good, based on the video.
Not too loud but seems to go a bit higher pitched as the revs increase.
