I love everything about the 991 turbo except the exhaust note.... I think perfection is the sound of a jcr race pipe on a 991gt variant. Anyhow, is there any exhaust out there that makes the turbo sound more "exotic"? I figure the closest I'm going to get is a full inconel catless kline system?
Or you might want to look into the catted/catless Kline 'race' system... That certainly sounds more 'exotic'.
it's my understanding from Sam that the Kline Inconel sounds a little higher pitched compared to the SS, he has some videos that demonstrate that
I had a Kline Iconel on my previous and the sound was amazing. I agree with Sam that is has a higher pitched wail at full throttle. It sounded great.
The EP generation 1 i have on my TTS is more subdued but still a great Porsche sound.
You hit the nail on the head. Overall the car is an amazing package but the exhaust is lackluster at best. I'm sure Porsche developed it as such for the majority of the clientele who acquire the Turbo/Turbo S but the car seriously lacks excitement due to the muffled exhaust noted. My 350hp SUV has a better exhaust note. That being said which exhaust has the best gurgles and high pitch at full throttle but subtle for daily/local driving. Any exhausts that have remote flaps/valves?
I love the sound of Kline, but for me, replacing the cats is a no-no. Is there any catback-only system that sounds like Kline?
Find someone with an Akra and listen to it. I really liked it on my F85. FabSpeed might be another option. Always best to hear them in person if possible.
Apologies for this question. I just know nothing about any of this. A “cat” is a catalytic converter? So a “cat less” exhaust has no cc? Can one actually do that legally?
Here's a few vids of the 76mm system we have Kline make us for those interested. We like to think it sounds pretty exotic while maintaining civility with hand-made canisters. Sorry i have so many haha. Hopefully this gives a little of everything to experience it's glory
