997.2 Turbo S or 991 Turbo S
I am tossed on what to possibly purchase. I have found some very low mile(3 to 8K) 997 Turbo S, not cheap though 120K or higher. I looked a 2016 GT3 but not a fan of seats. Any guidance on the 991 Turbo S vs the 997 Turbo S. I will only purchase a low mile one owner car...…………….can anyone offer help on car and engines...………….thanks in advance...………...MAM

I have a 991.1 TT and second what Andrew says. The longer wheelbase, newer electronics and more modern car would be my pick. The 997.2 is a great car as well and if leaning towards a low mile one I saw this last week. https://rennlist.com/forums/vehicle-...10k-miles.html

Just went through this. My favorite car from the past was a 997.1 tt, was not happy with the 991.1 steering feel, so I test drove a 997.2 tts (CPO) and several iterations of the 991.2. I bought a 991.2 tt (non s) and am VERY happy. It’s a better car than the 997 tts IRT steering feel, ride quality, ergonomics, comfort and thrust. I think it’s better looking, but they’re both beautiful. The 991.2 tt is OMG fast - interesting that my 991.1 c4 drove/felt like a larger car than the 997, but the 991.2 drives like a smaller car, probably due to 4 wheel steering. The 992.2 has apple play which is worth it just for waze.
I strongly suggest CPO. My car had a problem with the front axel lift, it didn’t cost anything to repair AND I got a boxster s for a loaner, which is not a bad consolation prize.
BTW, I can no longer drive a MT. The PDK in the 991.2 is better than the 997.2 tts. I really like the selector dial on the 991.2 steering wheel - it’s handy to shift from sport + to normal without looking once at cruising speed on the interstate - - and back if you need to make a Honda CRV disappear (very satisfying).

This is a no brainer. Always get the newest car you can afford. The 991 generation is superior in every way in my opinion.
Throw some specific cars to us and we will give you honest opinions. Good luck with your search. It is the most fun there is to have.

Definitely needs to be asked in the 997 Turbo section too, to get proper responses and comparisons.
Of course the 991 has advantages over previous generation. Why else would Porsche have made them, but looks and drivers feel is subjective.
If tech is what you're after, go 991. If a more traditional look and feel with way more performance than can be used on the street is what you're after, go 997.2 TTS.
