Default Weighed my Kline Inconel Assembly vs the OEM Assembly.

https://rennlist.com/forums/991-turb...st-system.html

The weight of the OEM Assembly in the above Kline thread is wrong. The stock muffler and both cats weigh 19.1kg (42lbs) not 26.5kg (58lbs).

The Kline Inconel Assembly weight is on the money. Kline Muffler and both Kline 100 cell cats weighed 10.9kg (24lbs). A nice weight savings of 18lbs, but not the 34lbs I was expecting.

Still, a very nice system overall.

Will be curious to see if the 100 cell cats set a code. I did install the 1" spacer for the secondary 02 sensors.

1- very interested in hearing your opinion on the sound improvement.

2- did you tune or do any programming or just swapped parts?

Just swapped parts. I'm not tuning this one. Will be a couple of days to get work/hobby balanced. Easy swap, but takes time to do it correctly.

I love to see the weight-cutting program you're putting on this car. Battery and exhaust so far...what else?

Just picked up my 991.1TT with the new Kline 304 100 cat exhaust and CF tips. Unfortunately it’s raining cats and dogs today so I took it straight home to the garage and didn’t get much opportunity to play. Initial impression is it sounds great with awesome burps and gurgles. It feels a little more responsive in the seat dyno but that could be the improved sound. No CEL in about 5 miles of driving. The CF tips look much better than I expected. Stage two tune coming soon then a custom tune by Sam.

Trying to select aftermarket pieces that, "in theory" , could have been offered from Porsche as OEM Light Weight Options. That's why I spec'd a 50Ah battery.A bit heavier than some, but more capacity. I killed the auto stop function which REALLY helps the battery capacity. The Kline Inconel was 2lbs lighter than the Akra option (although I love the Akra quality and sound. Had it on my X5M) I spec'd the TTS as a lightweight from the factory and was happy that it scaled 3570lbs pure stock and a full tank of fuel. I've now dropped 52lbs so it's at 3518lbs. I'll now look at some rear seat delete oem take outs. After I wear out the Pirelli's, I might look at rims for another 18lb loss...problem there is I really like the oem rims...but that might wear off in time. I decided to sell my new CSF Intercoolers since I'm not going to tune at this time. That will help fund the next weight mod. They are for sale here:

Did you use the 1" O2 spacers shown in this picture?

Finished up tonight. Hate to cover up the Inconel X ! So far 5 key cycles and no codes or pending codes on the scanner. REALLY liked how it changed the idle sound. Amazing to look in a factory cat and then into a 100cel cat. Two different worlds....

You can further reduce the weight if you go with the test pipes. When I got my Kline inconel I never actually installed the cats. They just sit in the garage. I did get a CEL but a tune resolved it. The car even passes inspection as it sits...

Completed some more drive cycles and +100mph blasts. Zero pending cells on the log. Very happy with that. Idle tone is much improved with the X chamber . Deeper idle tone. Much less “beetle like”. Part throttle cruise is quiet. Wide open sounds great. Louder, deeper, just what I wanted for this car. Could have come this way from Porsche and no one would complain. If you want an exhaust that is crazy loud, the 63mm , 100cell Cat , Kline is not for you. Great product.

Yes, I agree with the above. Drove 30 miles around town this weekend. No CELs. Very strong sound but not overbearing. I love the pops and gurgles when decelerating. I was worried the 100 cats would be too loud. Not at all.

The Kline systems are awesome. We've installed a handful of them here on 997.2 Turbos, 991s, 991.2s, etc. Fit and finish is great and they are definitely a more..."mature" sounding exhaust compare to some of the more aggressive sounding systems on the market.

Congrats and enjoy it!
