2019 911 Turbo S
OK - I purchased a new 991.2 Turbo S and took delivery in December - 6500 miles later I thought it was about time to write my thoughts on this car. I had watched and read tons of reviews on this car prior to purchasing and while some were positive, others were disparaging of the car as too "clinical" and not as interactive as other 911 varieties. Well, I have had the car now for 6-months and done all sorts of driving in it and OMG is it fun. It is not my "mid life crisis" vehicle, No, I call it me "Therapy" Vehicle - I forget all problems or work issues every time I drive it and now look for any reason to just take it out and drive. Open the sun roof, roll down the windows and enjoy the sound and feel of driving such a magnificent vehicle!
Yes, the car is RIDICULOUSLY Fast. Have done launch control 3x on it so far and one friend will not let me do it again as it shook him up that badly! You really have to be prepared for it and it really does feel like the front end comes off the ground! OK, you expect the Turbo S to be quick and OMG yes it is but what has surprised me most about the car so far are two things:
1. The Brakes. The Carbon Ceramic breaks STOP and I do mean STOP. Make sure nobody is on your *** if you are driving for if you have to stop short they will hit you! And they are very sensitive. I have never driven a car that can stop like this one
2. The Handling. Yes I know DUH what did you expect but I never expected what I got. I live in the Hudson Valley of NY and to drive the Bear Mountain roads and other winding roads up here is a thrill every time I can do it and this thing does not move and just hugs the road - 90° or 180° turns are taken at speeds that would have flipped my other cars.
To those that think this car is to clinical - WTF do you want?? A car with no power steering and has to be wound up to start?? This car is what it was designed to be - a lethal weapon or as I refer to it - a Ferrari Killer, Cars should be enjoyed and driven and should not be \difficult to drive and this car is so worth it! If you ever get the chance to enjoy it - do so and if you drive in the Hudson Valley and see someone with a smile on their face driving a 911 Turbo S, that would be me

Glad you’re enjoying it! They are truly fantastic cars.
I’ve been fortunate enough to own a 911 from the 996 generation, the 997 generation, and the 991 generation. While they are all great cars, the 991 is the best in every way. Porsche really got it right with this car. The proportions and the looks, the driving experience, the handling, and the comfort all combined to make a wonderful car. It’s the best 911 yet, hands down!
Very nice color too!

Beautiful color, ditto Bear Mt. roads. Assume you have cruised the Adirondacks, Vt. rt.100 thru.Green Mts.& even into N.H.White Mts. Depending your starting pt.all great full day rides. Just guessing, Rockland Co.?
Some great tracks in N.E. as well. The Glen, Lime Rock, Monticello, north to Canada if you get board, not likely in that car. Hammer down, be safe!

I cruised VT Rt 100 from Stowe to Killington yesterday. It was amazing. Beautiful day on the twisters.
Stayed at the Shelburne Inn the day before. ((Vanderbilt summer home )
