What did you do to your 991 turbo today?

A common modification for 991 owners is the RS skirts. Some like them in their raw black plastic look and some like painted. At first I ran the black plastic look then I had them painted. Not long after I had them painted I realized I liked the black look more.
I found a couple of old photos of my car when I went on a California road trip with some nice shadow effects that make the RS skirts in black look great! Even the stock wheels look fantastic in these photos.

Yep!
My take on painted:
-Costs more
-Non OEM paint job won't match the car, and this will burn your eyes if you're obsessive about that type of thing
-They absolutely get rashed. The front of the skirts (behind the front wheels) have had the paint sand blasted off from spirited driving.
Apologies for the low res photos. They look so crispy and clear on my phone but once uploaded they got a bit grainy.

I just did the Aerokit (front only) and it's been sitting in the garage waiting 30 days for the paint to cure before I have it PPF'ed. My scheduled PPF appointment in six days. Yeaaaaa!

Mine are not painted but with the stealth PPF and even before then I thought they looked best this way. They are bound to get chipped up at some point and I can fix the matte original finish with some SEM black trim paint and they will look like new!

I just had my RS sideskirts and new front aero splitter painted jet black metallic to match my TTS. I think with a black car, the matte skirts and intakes look "off." On other colors I don't mind so much. I'm actually going to spray my RS intake covers in a gloss as well.
I'm waiting for curing to get the skirts and splitter sprayed with a very heavy coating which will be more durable than film. It's basically a super thick armor type coating that my painter told me about.

I like your RS Skirts painted. I think it matches your painted Aerokit front bumper splitter better. Have you thought about PPF?
