Default Porsche of Albuquerque won’t give me part number

I called Abq Porsche for brake pads on 991 turboS and they gave me a price but said they don’t give out part numbers. Is this normal?

Not unheard of. Go get the part numbers from the Sunset Porsche website.

copy that.
It just seems like a bad business strategy, I won’t be going to abq Porsche for anything now.

Well, they a just making it hard for you to cross shop them on price. Not completely surprising, just a silly game they play.

Ya I figured. That’s a pretty dumb choice given all the info out and about these days. I think I’ll go by and pull them up online and ask them to price match. When they say NO, I’ll hit the checkout option on my phone and tell them amazon is slowly winning haha. Or I could be passive and just stay home and order them

Dont you have better things to do with your time that go down to the dealer to prove a point to a person that couldn't care less about the point you are trying to prove?

Get the p/n then call back and ask how much they sell p/n XYZ for.

Standard practice for anyone who does not compete on price.

If you just want pads, rockauto has them for like $40, never used them on a 991 however.

Interesting how different dealers threat their customers.

Honestly, I plan to try the $40 rock auto pads on my GT3 when I need pads — maybe the $56 pads. If you are smart about things, non-genuine parts can be just as good as genuine. I was a fairly early lotus adopter and, well I was both cheap and poor (now I am just cheap) and put a ton of miles so I figured out inexpensive consumables. What I really need are not $750 each rotors ....

Go here for the official US 991 parts catlogs, and look up your own numbers.
