Default Possibly 991.1 Turbo S, seeking opinions

Hi guys,
I’m currently looking to purchase my first Porsche and a 991.1 turbo/S. I found what appears to be a nice black one in southern cal. It does have an accident report with no air bag and appears to be a minor fender bender. I’ll post the link to the car. It does have a pretty long option list and was originally over 200k .Please give me your opinions on what you guys think. I would probably see if someone locally could check it out in person for me and of course I’d happily send them some money for their time. Also note the Carfax is free on their link page. I’m no Porsche guru so appreciate the advice. Thanks Thomas

Looks like a well equipped car. However BLACK is not a hobby color but more of an obsession. They are clean for 10 minutes after you wash them. I'll never own another black car no matter how good they look, and I admit they do look good.

very nice car however very few people are interested in a car without a clean carfax

most dealers won't touch them

so many other great cars out there, I'd pass on this one

that was a very specific question and concern of mine in the Porsche world. Seems to have a much large impact on price and resale value. That’s why I’ve also been looking at this other Turbo 20k miles, and CPO.

I recall one fellow who said he had had something like 15 black cars and they were so much trouble he'd never buy another one. Kind of makes you wonder why he kept choosing black so many times if they were that awful

Well I know because I had a black Supra TT for 14 years and it was a pain to keep clean. Then I bought a new black sports car and had two that were a pain to keep clean! But when they are clean...wow!!!

They do look good. I’m not opposed to other colors (currently I have a white Z06) and I really like the white or Agate Grey turbo.

my gut says go with CPO or similar even if it’s a turbo and not S as long as it’s a clean sheet. I do expect I’ll add exhaust and probably a Cobb anyways!!

I also like this one. I’m partial to the white, must haves for me are sport chrono, htd, vented seats, and few other little things that seem to be on most of them.

If you go with black PPF and ceramic coat is a must in my opinion. With PPF swirls are not a worry. With ceramic coat a quick blast with the hose and wipe down gets off most of the grime. Or a wipe down with ONR.

My advice is to move on with your search. Do not buy any car with a history of an accident. There's always that unknown that pops up later that rues the day. Stay away no matter how nice it looks in pictures.

Search on.
